What about roast threads?

Are you talking about blocking them?
I don't know. You can choose to ignore them and click the "Mark All Forum Read" button on the bottom of the main forum page, once you're done reading the ones you want to see.

Can we have the red background back please Thomas? Everyone is getting into the holiday spirit and it's an important aspect of the theme

Agreed. It was most pleasant. And also, on top of that after the festive background was changed, the backgrounds for Mir and Grey also started to act weird. Thomas, has your personal background not been showing up either for you?

Yeah I really liked the red too. I thought it worked better for the forum than this does. It broke up the dark color scheme in a good way.

I'd like for snafu to stop redirecting me to snafu-mobile when I'm on a laptop.

Every.

Fucking.

Time.

I...hve never had that happen...weird

Re: Request's (Please read the first page)

Me neither. I always end up in the desktop version.

Re: Request's (Please read the first page)

Doesn't happen when I go directly into the forum.

Always happens when I go to the main page first and then use the forum link.

Hmm, when I get home I'll have to see what happens if I do that. I almost never access the forum that way

Re: Request's (Please read the first page)

I always use that method, main page/forum link. Never had that problem.

Re: Request's (Please read the first page)

Wed Feb 19, 2014 4:48 pm

I just go straight to the forum.
Rarely go to the main page.

You know at first, I thought it would be inappropriate now that there's still falling snow on the Snafu banner now that Christmas is over, but I got an idea. You should do something similar with Spring, Summer, and Fall. Fall would work really when since you can have falling leaves, but for Spring and Summer I don't know. Just a thought I came up with.

It's not much but it's a great way to tell which season of the year we're currently in at the moment, and right now it's still the winter season I believe, and it's SUPER cold.

Hey that's not a bad idea.
For Spring there can be falling flowers or green leaves and for Summer there can be ... idk, girls in bikinis falling with BR's "Deal with it" avatar in the corner.

I do about 50-50. Well, less so than that because of it being more annoying. But I like to go through the main page regularly to see the new pages coming up.

That happens to me too c:

I'm new here and on the forum, but I just wanted to share that regardless of the fact that I'm clearly no spambot, I had endless trouble answering your one last question. I mean not to be rude, but I can say I've never faced so much trouble registering for a website. Sorry for the hate. :(

Since the last time I registered for the site was in 2008, I have no idea how much of our anti-bot defenses are still up, but new members seem to be having troubles getting in. Might be something we want to look into when a chance is given.

If that's true then that's horrible, it's bad enough the forum is dying a slow and struggling death but it's worse that we make it harder for new people to come join.

Re: Request's (Please read the first page)

I remember it took me 3-4 tried to get it.
2 other people I've attempted to introduce the site to got frustrated trying to get through and gave up.

What? That's ridiculous. It's just to keep the bots out. How difficult can it be?

Also, if it's really that difficult how did this many newbies manage to get through? When I look at the news section I'm not exactly overwhelmed by the collective intelligence expunged there.

Re: Request's (Please read the first page)

Persistence maybe.
It is simple after successfully doing it, but the first time around it seems a bit jumbled up.

Das bs. It's a very simple question.

Re: Request's (Please read the first page)

I forget, what was the question again?

Re: Request's (Please read the first page)

Type out a certain number of characters of a phrase backwards, caps where they should be, do it a few times.

Honestly, that question tripped me up a couple of times. By a couple, I mean a many many times. Space or no space? Does the first one count? How many total? Am I a really a bot disguised as a human? Or is this a test to make sure I'm competent enough to join the ranks of SNAFU? (No I'm not really competent enough to be here)

It's a good measure to keep out the bots, not gonna lie. But I think the wording's a little confusing.

I do believe it was the last 5 words of Snafu Comics, or something like that. Admittedly it took me like 2, maybe 3 tries to get it right. This could prove especially problematic for those who aren't great at English.
