So I started reading Gantz because one of my friends was bugging me about it, after the first book I was like "This is confusing, why are they doing this whats going on?" but then a few days later he let me borrow the next two books, lemme tell ya, after the third volume I was hooked, then obsessed, and I read the rest online and finished it in 3.5 days. I couldnt stop reading, please do yourself a favor and read it if you haven't already.

Man, I want to keep watching but just... main character pisses me off. And fairly ridiculous things are happening now.
Don't get me wrong, those who told me "watch Code Geass if you liked Death Note" had a good point, I can see that. But man. Nowhere near as complex thought-wise. And 10 times more emotional and dramatic than that. I'm half way through the... what is it? 2nd season? Season R? Somebody please tell me the ending is not a big disappointment.    By disappointment I mean an ending where Zero wins, but all his friends are dead, and then he figures there was no point to it all, and regrets doing anything. Because, once Shirley died it just seemed that it would end up going that way.

THE ENDING OF CODE GEASS IS ONE OF THE BEST ENDINGS I HAVE EVER SEEN EVERRRR! IT TOTALLY MAKES THE REST OF THE SEASON WORTH IT JUST FOR THAT!!!!!! THAT FINAL ARK IS SOOO GOOOOD!!!

Also if you like death note, another lesser heard of manga I would recommend is Maou: juvenile remix. http://www.mangahere.com/manga/maou_juvenile_remix/ There are ten volumes but I just don't know where to find all of them in one place.

Honestly the only reason people connect Code Geass with Death note is due to Lelouch & Light have nearly the same risky gambler/new Messiah like personality. Only difference is one started a war against his socialpathic dick of a father & is a raging siscon, the other just had a god complex.

I always liked Lulouch much more than Light. To me Light was completely unsympathetic, he really did not care who he had to kill as long as he himself did not die. He never developed and never learned any lesson. With Lulouch it is different, I think there are moment's where he begins to go down the same path but he doesn't lack empathy. And so he is constantly humbled and reminded by others what it means to be human.

Their both pretty much insane, but the difference is Light was also a sociopath, he put himself above all others. While Lulouch was insane, he did have people he cared about other than himself.

For me its not about which character is more sympathetic, but which one is more fun to watch and I greatly enjoyed watching Light fall apart bit by bit as the series went on until his final outcome of being cornered and Mastuda busting a cap in his ass. Finally watching that twisted little fucker break down the way he did until he was nothing more than a total nut-job and his eventual defeat was some of the most fun I had watching a Shonen series.

On a minor note, did anyone else notice how much of a crack shot Matsuda is in that show? I don't think the guy ever missed whenever he took out his gun no matter how rare it might have been.

I didn't much care for death notes secondary cast to be honest. I found Matsuda kind of annoying. I also think that the writer Ohba is really bad at writing female characters.

@ari

& another thing to like (or hate depending on your view) Lelouch is that he had a nice ice cream store flavored harem that rivals Touma's.

@Ari-6:

Holy shit does that guy not know how to write female characters!
Misa was a fucking joke and all the others were either just there or just pawns like that one lady who Light murders.
He was so bad at it I've heard rumors that some people thinks he's a total sexist.

I have heard that too. I had to write an essay about the duo once and I wrote about it in detail. And it is still there even in Bakuman, nothing changes. He does get better at writing secondary characters though. But the main characters are far less interesting. It also does not help that Obata can only draw like two female faces. Put them together and the result is very disappointing female characters.

Well, I got to say, it was quite good indeed. I kinda expected that to be how it ends by then, since it just seemed to make sense and it is a somewhat known theme of "become all evil to cleanse all evil". But the way they made it work was enjoyable indeed. There seem to be some more to watch, like the Special editions of Black Rebellion, and Zero Requiem. Are these worth a shot too? Or will it just mess with the closure the final episode gave? I'm not going to bother with extras unless they actually have something good in them that I didn't get from the series.

I know of one spin off that was basically a completely unrelated story apart from Suzaku has a brief cameo. I have not been able to find anything about Zero requiem ova. Before the "zero requiem" usually referred to the final ark. Some people seem hopeful that it is a continuation. Which I guess would be cool except it risks ruining the near perfect ending the series had.

The woman with Ugo in 215 has to be the tiny girl in 216.
In only 2 chapters I'm starting to see what might've happened, and I fucking love how I know it's going to be good whether I'm right or wrong.

Hmm, note to self, read latest chapter of Magi ASAP (maybe I should do this now). Oh my, quite the interesting chapter. It confuses me as to the end of last chapter (not because of what you mentioned but because of Solomon). Hmm... Okay, after skimming a few other chapters, now I understand. And Tenshi, i don't think it's her (pay attention to the staff she's holding (even more importantly think about who has a similar staff to the one the girl has now)). I wish it were next week already :c

I feel like re-reading Magi, just because I feel like I might have missed something before. Or that I'm forgetting something important.

In other news, I just heard that La Corda D'oro (Kiniro no Corda) will be getting a third season and I'm conflicted. It apparently won't be continuing the story from the first portion of the story, and none of the characters will be the same. To watch, or not to watch........

From what I'm seeing, Solomon in 215 now has the staff from chapter 216. He also seems 'off' in 215.
I think the girl with Ugo is our new little girl here, there's some time before these chapters, but the girl must have some considerable amount of magic in her, since she was able to power the thingy :3

The staff she now holds though, reminds me of old grandma Kouga's.

Chapter 193 is key (the last few pages). Also the girl with Ugo is holding a wing staff, sort of like the one Arba is holding (easy to miss her since she is sort of just in the crowd in 216 (and has that one fight panel)).But now that you bring up Kouga, her staff does look similar, hmmmm....

Also, I don't think that's Solomon, I think that the person with the staff in 215 is the little girl (confused me too because of how similar they looked, but then it's the only other explanation since there couldn't have been two Solomon (and she was talking to Solomon)) c:

And I knew I was forgetting someone. Ithnan. Ever since he left, I pushed his memory aside.

Ah, now here we go to my favorite part...theory crafting :D

Note that there are no name tags for them in 215. Also, the person, supposedly Solomon, doesn't look like alike in 215 and 216.
Another look at Ithnan can help guess-timate the time between each chapter.
Then, take a look at the cast of characters. The ones present in 216 are either missing or dissatisfied in 215. So we know that the allies in 216 have experienced the events leading to 215.

Doing a play off of Mogamett, the concept that Magi always choose a king, instead of become king themselves.
Something caused the real Solomon to make this other into King Solomon(fake).

So much fun c:

See this is what I'm thinking. We already know who Gyokuen is (which is why chapter 193 is so important). The staff she holds there looks almost identical to the one our new character has. That's the reason I think that these two are one in the same, and that she changed her name for some reason. We saw Sheba escape because she wanted to go back to the tower in order "to accomplish the task Ilah gave me". Later on she asked "father to bestow Divine punishment" upon them for being impure. Remember a few chapters ago when everyone was fighting against the medium? Gyokuen stated "We meet at last Father". In chapter 193 Solomon says "So you didn't allow it, huh...in the end" Which I'm taking to mean "So you couldn't change your core beliefs in the end" Also take a look at page 18 of 193 then compare that picture to page 17 of 215. They look almost exactly the same.

As you said, it would appear that some time has passed between the events in 216 and the events in 215. Which is why I believe that the person who looks like Solomon is actually an older Sheba and that she is talking to an older Solomon. Note, that whenever they show older Solomon, we never see his face fully, it's always omitted (even in 215). We do, however, see his staff at all times. The one in page 9 of 216 is the same as the one he's holding in 215. (which coincidentally enough also shows the staff that Arba uses, though it's hard to tell whether or not she's the same person because her pigtails are almost always omitted in her other scenes (but you can see her fighting with a wing staff earlier in the chapter, and you can sort of see her pigtails wrapped up and hanging down in 216 after she introduces herself))

Though, I do wonder, how the rift between them was created, when they look so happy here :c

OOooo, I'm getting all giddy and over hyped.
I see the resemblance more now.
I'm still unsure on how to take King Solomon though. Without a face the guy resembles Sinbad more than anyone else.

I forgot about that initial flashback, your thought looks much better. Miss crazy memory :3
I do wonder though, does that mean Ugo is a Magi :O

I know right? So excited for next chapter!
Which sort of makes you wonder more about Sinbad. And he's already somewhat shady :p

was just doing my research c:
Yep! He was amongst the three magi in the chapter Gyokuen revealed herself. But..... it's an interesting question because I thought that he was a djinn in Aladdin's world? I wonder when this change happened since he looks normal in the last two chapters...Oh, but he is missing his glasses in 215, I wonder if that has anything to do with the change. Hmmm
