You are a very brave man.

PPGZ aired in the broadcast slot for young children aged 5-9 with the Shojo demographic (young girls) in mind. In that context an adult watching the entire series to "know its horrors" is incredibly nerdy and silly. Watching shows you hate is already incredibly nerdy and silly, but in this case especially so.

Bleedman's stuff came before PPGZ just pointing that out cause your post suggests you might not be aware.

I think people should just let it go with PPGZ. Yeah it was pretty bad, but it only had a standard (for its time-slot) 52 episode run and wasn't even particularly successful in its own country, it's been 6 years now since it ended there won't be any more of it.

It's just another example in a myriad of cases of a franchise being "retooled" for a different country and the retoolers ignoring and/or not giving a damn about what made the original work and changing it to the point of parody.

Besides, it's not like Western countries don't do that sort of thing, there's: Dragonball Evolution, Disney's version of Marsupilami, Hilfe, meine Familie spinnt (Germany's version of Married with Children) and that's just at the top of my head and ignoring the more well known stuff like the Office. My country does it too, with Ojciec Mateusz being a crappy low-budget version of Italy's Don Matteo (and the original is already very silly).

So what I'm trying to say is, if I was like 16 or 17 again and if I wasn't aware this sort of stuff has been happening for decades all over the world, then maybe I'd be annoyed about PPGZ, but right now, meh.

Later, when the time is right. Like Atomic Betty might help close this arc, or she was just used to show the other side of things. I think its hard for us to... I'm having trouble with the word, because patience isn't really the right one, nor is "keep in mind". But the comic updates are so slow, I think its difficult for us to see how they will tie in.

They'll be used again, just after we get things settled.
