I really think you are seeing strategy because you want to see it. The Grim have no hierarchy as far as we know and nothing to suggest they have anything close to human intelligence.

I didn't say they had human intelligence. But they are animals. I think you underestimate animals, my dear.

Technically, the proof of strategy is there. Whether intentional or not.

That is because Monty choreographed the whole thing.

And through that, he showed the Scorpion seemed smarter than the Bird.

You REALLY underestimate animals.

It's like you think beasts and pokemon are the same - they can't do any fighting moves without being told to do so. That isn't true. Most animals use strategy all the time - whether in fighting or anything else. It has nothing to do with Monty - animals use cunning and intellect all the time. Perhaps not human intellect but intellect of some kind. That scorpion used it efficiently, the bird didn't. The evidence is there.

It is just the way you said the bird left himself open. I do not really think he could truly be considered an opponent but more of an obstical. Also, that finishing move! Who could have known to defend against that?

He had wings. His tail was stuck but he had wings. He should have used his GIANT and TOUGH wings to protect his face. Just sayin'.

I have never known of a bird to use its wings to intentionally protect it's head.

I have.

But also, once again - DEMON bird. This aint no normal species of bird.

I've yet to know of a scorpion that swings its tail like that. Yet it just did.

I doubt it is any more intelligent than a hawk or shrike.

I wonder what Roman plans to do with all that Dust he's collecting.

Well, there are tons of X marks on the map. I'm guessing terrorism. Or just normal revolution, but still.

WARK! Bird-brain! WARK!

Nora... is insane.

So the team archetypes seem to be a naive leader (Ruby/Jaune), a serious battler (Weiss/Pyrrha), a quiet speedster (Blake/Ren), and an excitable tank (Yang/Nora).

DAMN IT! I didn't realize I was taking so long to write this short assed thing.
I just love how people put commas, in places they so obviously, do not belong.

I don't know about you, but I love the Young Justice animated series.
So I became the 44,901st signer of this petition to bring the series back.

Did anyone else think it was weird that we didn't hear the bird's body crash into the ground? I don't know why, but I was expecting to hear it slam into the ground or those ruins and it kind of threw me off.

I liked how Nora rode on her hammer. I seriously didn't expect Juane to be a strategist.

The scorpion did better in defense, while the bird did better in offense.

The bird was more dangerous by virtue of its mobility. The scorpion in its immediacy did have faster reactions with its tactical maneuvers, but given the lack of distance, that is relatively expected for something that shape and size. The point of the bird was that it has a massive advantage in combat because it moves in three dimensions rather than across a two-dimensional plane. More angles of attack naturally open up more positions for danger.

The bird also flew through the bridge in an apparent attempt to wipe everyone out at once. Biostar is correct.

Blake's weapons have really variable elasticity. :X that is a hard thing to measure in any choreographed sense.

Did Nora remind anyone else of patty from soul eater?
Oh and what about that all male team what are the thoughts on them?

I thought YAng was going to be the hyper childish girl, turns out she just really positive and all around cool.

I couldn't see her face after the announcement was made but I bet Weiss ain't to proud that rwby became team leader. No doubt she will be bunking with rwby. I really want to know more of about why she want to be perfect.

Next episode I hope they finally reveal school uniforms.
I want to see how they look on everyone.
Oh and did everyone see Blake's bow twitch like cat ears? I jumped at that

She reminds me of Harley Quinn from batman. Giant mallets, weird looking grenade launcher, and insane personality obsessing over one particular individual who is particularly annoyed by her. I can't see why not.
