I refer to MechQuest when I think of Academy content. Basically, each "class" levels up "skills" for the character. The skills would work like in RuneScape: passively, which affect stats, occupations, and environment manipulation.

This occurs while doing non-combat quests getting you affiliated with the academy. From the academy, you can accept events and missions (like in GetAmped2) which send you to instances throughout the world (like in Vindictus). While, in addition, you can also open-world, allowing for more content.

I only used the level 1-20 to explain how much content it has, but honestly the levels only exist in concerns to the skills - not the character. Characters could have Ranks, but honestly that won't say much about them - which means PvP will be more involved, as the character would be classless and rely on the skills they've trained rather than basic level comparison.

So, it would be a mixture between sandbox and dungeon, with dungeon being released first and foremost to get players in without having to use too many resources.

That being said, it would mainly be explorative in nature than an all-out brawlfest. Even so, the combat is meant to be fully-interactive, even cinematic. So, it gives more of a proper RPG feel than most Online games today.

--

The above is based on the design of the world we've been shown in the show. Normally class and leveling systems would NOT work in that world, period. And it's not impossible to create the above: All of the content I explained has already been done. The team just needs to combine it.

I hate being the last one to post on a page. No one reads it. Bones of a RWBY game right there

I read it :p. And watched them.

Also this is ofc my opinion. You say the best RPG are where you do little and watch cutscenes.
Just saying, if I wanted to watch a movie, I'd go find one, not play one.
RPG - Role Play Game
I want to play in another world, be consumed by it. I don't want to idle by watching my skills go up with no effort.

damn you Tenshi! I am feeling sorry for myself, don't interrupt!

I would agree. My own idea of an RPG has very little cutscenes. Much less than those games that follow a set story.

I'm not saying the BEST RPG is cutscenes-only. But you can't have a proper RPG if all you do is punch people in the face. You have to play a ROLE for it to be a role-playing game. A role within the world and its story.

I was referring to how the combat looks - it would LOOK cinematic, not that it would go all Pockie Ninja on you and not let you do the actual fighting. Think of Vindictus and Blade & Soul - both have fully-interactive combat, and you're actually doing the combat yourself.

I would like that, but there would still not be enough content. I'm ending my side here, there's really no point continuing this longer than it has.

Alternatively, someone has started work trying to make a RWBY game. Still very early alpha though. I hear that there are even videos logging their progress.

There is a fairly substantial debate on the wiki over the possibility of a game since RWBY itself already looks so much like a game. If you're looking for epic, awesome, good, or decent, then I've got a door for you. Try not to let it hit you. The fun of the idea is to use the characters and setting in a game that's ostensibly official. Anyone can make a sorry excuse for a game. Plenty of fans can even make pretty cool games. But the feeling you get from playing a game licensed by its creators is just different. RoosterTeeth doesn't have to make the game themselves, they just need to find a decent developer to license to.
I don't like MORGs, the closest to that I've played has been SWTOR. But content for one could be generated easily enough. We've seen a lot of the landscape of Vale, the city, the inside of Beacon, and three forests. We've seen Grimm in multiple forms, Human, and Faunus-type enemies. The first three bosses we've seen were large Grimm. How hard can it be to generate a MORG, really? What exactly are you looking for?
I just love how people put commas, in places they so obviously, do not belong.

I don't know about you, but I love the Young Justice animated series.
So I became the 44,901st signer of this petition to bring the series back.

If you're using SWTOR as a representation of MORGs, I feel bad for you. >.>

I still don't understand why you think it would be bad, Tenshi. As Mercen said, what exactly are you looking for?

Monty updated his posted on Velvet's design contest. It's vague but there isn't much time left.

I would have entered myself but really...with so much creativity and inspiration involved, I'd rather save it for something more worthwhile. The contest lasts three weeks now since Monty's given extra time. You've got until next Monday I believe before he closes all entries. See his RT posts for more information: http://roosterteeth.com/members/journal/?uid=14609

I'm very excited to see who wins this design contest.

Next Monday.

I happen to have decided to at least save the image for my own "How to Draw" Reference for Females. Now if only Monty Oum could now just post the Male base...

I imagine the male base would be the same, just a bit wider at the shoulders, wider at the waist, and minus the mounds.

Sexual implications aside. Disney characters are known to always be involved romantically nearly immediately. Putting more emphasis on the Disney Princesses.
During the RWBY trailer releases a lot of people speculated on which fairy tale each character was based off of. Disney tales being a couple. So I thought it was a fun reference to that.

Huh. I kinda get it.

The video is real interesting since RoosterTeeth is doing this cartoon network schtick where characters from different shows interact in a way. I want to see Church trying to hit on Ying. Bow-chika-bowow~!

It's not gonna happen. They said that themselves right in the next recap. Besides, Tucker says that, not Church.
