This page saddens me.

Shouldn't flashbacks be used sparingly? I mean, you can't rely on them constantly. The story has no progression.

Hell, I even forgot what actually led to the current flashback as it is.

At this point, I have no idea why the current Mimi is as prominent as she is. Her old self has more characterization than her current self, now.

But whatevs.

I'll just have to wait and see how long this arc goes for.

The current thing isn't a flashback, so to speak. We're just going into the story of how Mimi became Her. I guess GT WHAM could be considered the current storyline, then this is an off shoot.

Flashbacks are an insanely popular way to tell stories, especially for most web comics. Like The Zombie Hunter's Comic. THE biggest god damn flash back that I've ever seen. Its a great way to tell a story or provide background information, but its also the easiest.

Bleed uses them too much.

Ugh.

I've been following Grim Tales from the very beginning, and the whole flashback at the beginning was ok, because it was essentially the story itself.

But if I recall, the story at the moment is supposed to be Junior making Mimi his pet.

Sort of.

Eh. I'm just. In need of some story progression, instead of more background.

Hell, use dreams or something. Even the flashbacks could be ok, if they didn't drag on for so damn long.

I was actually thinking more along the lines of the last boss from Mega Man X8, especially since the visual motif of the monitors and globes are highly reminiscent of the stage select screen in that game. I do see where the perspective and arrangement, though, are more like the Zero 1 final boss (that I was never able to beat).

That's GT WHAM. We're off into something else entirely different now, know as GT:FO (Grim Tales: Further Orientation) that explores character pasts.
