That second-to-last panel looks really cool. And Dexter seems to have broke the law of equivalent exchange. Isn't that going against science?

Loving that second to last panel, totally sophisticated badassery.

Dangit, you guys beat me to it. But it does make sense, although alchemy is considered a form of magic it's not actually magic. Alchemy is actually the ancestor of chemistry, so it makes sense that dexter would use a type of "alchemy".

How has he broken it? All he's done is transmute his hands into more powerful cybenertic ones. That doesn't violate the law, Edward transmuted his automail hand all the time. We've never heard he has, but if, down the road, it was revealed that, in this universe, Dexter has lost his hands in one way or another (lab accident, trying to bring DeeDee back) and the hands he has now are automail with a synthetic skin over them (Dexter was able to make a Robo Deedee that could fool his parents, so we know he can make artificial skin that looks and feels like the real thing) it would not suprise me much. The only rule he seems to be breaking is the one about "you can't transmute without a circle". But again, the Elrics could do it, and while it was noted as remarkable, there is nothing to say they were the only ones who could do it, or the only ones who would ever be able to do it.

I knew Dexter would make his stand, him and Junior just to protect those who are in need like Mimi and the people that can't get into the safe room. I can't wait to see those two fight with everything they got. :D

Heh heh...it's like seeing a smarter, younger, and shorter version of Edward. Hell Dexter is even pulling of a Badass Coat moment.

I didn't think about his arms being automail. They might be, as in an alternate future his arms do look like full mechanical.

Alchemy isn't really Dexter's style. It's too inexact a science if you ask me. It's more likely he had a hidden blade a la Assassin's Creed going on, but instead of using a sleeve for the hiding he used some sort of space-warping storage located on his wrist or something.

@innocence abandoned,
could be, here's the thing, the way the old stories about the medieval alchemist were formed was because of misinformation and illusions. Often real world medieval alchemists would add a bit of smoke and mirrors to a public display of a standard alchemic process to make themselves seem like magi when they were, in fact, just primitive scientist. That seems like that's what dexter is applying here, he's adding a bit of flair (face it, he's a show off at times) to make the reveal of his weapons seem more dynamic when it can be explained through a simple teleporter or a hidden sleeve weapon.

He's looking a little like his old self (cartoon). Down to serious business.

You mean short, in uniform, and always having that serious look on his face? XD

I like dexter because he admits that he's human. The way he says "i don't be protected right now" implies that he's ok with the idea that he's frail and weaker than the superheroes, and he's able to attack when possible. This is good because heroes who get all flustered and hotheaded about being protected (moreso with the protectors being girls) are way too overused.

Except for the fact that on two different occasions Dexter has shown himself to be equal if not more powerful than the Powerpuff Girls. Once by nearly defeating all three of them in the beginning of the comic, and twice by coming to Blossom's rescue against Mandark.

He knows his limitations and when to accept help.

Basically, he's being tactical (smart) about organising this.
