The Internet is like the Old West of this era.

I always feel like going against the grain, especially, like in this case, where I don't want to be associated with the mainstream. Please try to sound semi-intelligent when you're arguing the bill. This bill isn't the end of the US, nor will it destroy our way of life. It's just a stupid bill. It probably won't pass. And then it will fade from public memory like other bills that didn't pass.

Of course. But always be prepared for every possibility. We might hate the bill, and it seems stupid, yes, but there is still it can pass. Not the end of the world, but I'm not kidding when I say civil uproar has a good chance of happening if the bill does get passed. To some, the Internet is as every bit as part of them as a limb. It may not be as extreme as I portrayed it to be, but it will be bad.

Can you blame me? I may be somewhat naturally unbiased from traveling around the world as a kid, but your media puts America on a pedestal and calls them heroes. I have lived in the US for a time, but only to just see the beginning of the obesity explosion. After that, movies, football, and the like are whats put on display. I am not a gullible idiot, believing everything I see, but I do get a bit... Confused, at times.

Yeah but that's not in the United States of America. And the Internet is easier to control or at least spy upon.

This is going to be like a modern day Prohibition more than anything. Even if the bill becomes a law, there is simply too much spread over too large of an area for any branch of the government to be able to put a dent in the newly illegal activities. Sure, the largest and legal distilleries (domains) will be shut down, but then a hundred thousand people will use their own resources to run smaller, underground ones instead. Honestly, this is not something the government is on top of. The best ITs, the brightest hackers, and the strongest security programs are all employed by people other than them.

WHOOO! SOPA and PIPA are DEAD! After what I am now going to call the Great Blackout of 2012, Congress decided to table the bills. Celebrate!

I don't know when SOPA's bill will pass but, one things for sure that we got to stop it or else and I hope bleedman's is putting an end to SOPA's bill too.

All I heard was that it was shelved. I'm not sure though.
