My friend and I are going to see it, too. My brother's going to wait until it comes out on YouTube or Netflix or something, because he would be too embarrassed to go see it in public.

...In any case, those dolls really look horrendous. There's just something really off about their faces, and their limbs, too. O_o; Rarity's in particular kinda scares me a bit.;

The Uncanny Vally:
Its a term that people who draw or do any kind of designs learn.

Definition: The uncanny valley is a hypothesis in the field of human aesthetics which holds that when human features look and move almost, but not perfectly, like natural human beings, it causes a response of revulsion among human observers.

In cartoons and such you can exaggerate features and sometimes what's cute in a cartoon isn't cute in real life. If you botch a design, something that's meant to look cute can come out looking freaky. I think that's the problem with the dolls, they're design is clearly bad.

Those dolls also remind me of that crazy old guy who liked dolls from Ghost in the Shell: Innocence.
He had an interesting theory as to why some humans find doll disturbing.

The theory is a little too... grim I think to be shown in an MLP thread.

Why this makes me think of Persona 4, I have no idea.

@ Sefrol
A lot of stuff reminds me of Persona 4. But that's probably because of how awesome it is. Maybe its Queenie's uniform in this case or the fact that the main character form that game had a kendo bamboo blade at one point.

Found this just now and it kind of made me laugh:

It took me 626 pages, but I final figured out what this thread reminds me of. There was a Buttercup Fan Thread back when I joined that was a lot like this one.

It contained some discussion of Buttercup, but was filled with fan made pictures. These images joked with the creator, cross overs, some way good serious ones, and some, umm... well lets just say you didn't want your boss looking over your shoulder and seeing it.

This thread is the same, well similar. There is some discussion of MLP, but a vast majority is nothing more than the collection of fan pictures. Some poking fun at the creators, some doing cross overs, and others that I wouldn't want my boss to see.

So its like the principle of the two threads are the same. I hope it doesn't end like the Buttercup Thread. It spiraled out of control, died a couple of times, coming back each time like some sort of undead horror, and then I think it just had to be locked.

I'd hate for that to happen as well. Doubt if this thread did die, it would stay that way for long. Always new things popping up in the fandom, and despite there being things that rile things up, I'm glad we always get everyone calmed down. Maybe even have a laugh or two after the fact.

EDIT:

TOO MUCH PERSONA!

SFM will never get old at this rate. Almost makes you wonder how much further you could possibly push it.

That was all sorts of amazing~ Been wondering if that guy would continue with that series, and I'm definitely pleased with his progress. Loved the magic effect. I wouldn't be afraid to guess the next big step would show realistic fur.

If you mean those "things"...
They already have your own place to stay there. For sure, they won't be found here.
The weirdest thing I had seen in this topic was those pictures of Grimdark and Gore(I remember posting some in that time).

How the term "Brony" came up?

Also, Doc? Did you mean to say something? Because I'm only seeing you just quoted that post with nothing else...

Ugh...

Jeez, I think IDW kinda blew their load on the Rarity comic, because the Fluttershy comic doesn't feel a quarter as long, and is SERIOUSLY a throwaway story. It's a nice moral, but the conflict and payoff are so fleeting they barely feel like they're present at all compared to the Twilight and Rarity comics. Not to mention it just feels unbelievably "been there; done that."

I guess the Rainbow Dash comic was like that too, but even that had SOME meat to it.

Yes, but dude... they're four bucks a pop. Nut up and support these guys, they do some of the best work to do with the show :-\

And yes, I'm saying that as the asshole who turns adblock on, even for independent shows like the ones found at TGWTG for whom the ad revenue is a major part of their living expenses. I'll shill out four bucks or so a month to check out some awesome official pony comics by people who evidently give a shit.

Not possible. I get my comics at the store for 4 dollars each. A pony comic shouldn't cost 10 dollars.
