Found another Paper Twilight piece by Artsyfeather, the person who Mystery Ben is having fun with making this lovely little series of pic.

Hmm, either there have not been as many winter pictures this year or I'm just not paying attention. I haven't visited Equestria Daily for a long while so it's probably the latter. Hmmmmm.

A bit about the episode.
This is the second Spike episode this season and again it focuses on humor, though I feel this is the better of the two. There are a lot of neat little details, such as the pictures that explained what happened to Peewee. Screw Loose appeared again, and seemed cure (right after the Discord episode. Maybe one of Discord's "good deed"?), and Cheerilee can be seen going together with Big Macintosh, implying that they have at least become friendlier after the love poison accident. We also saw Zecora, offering wise advice to everyone as usual, though this time she made a bit of a troll move.
The interactions of the pet were great. Though spoiled as ever, Angel is still an angel when he should be. The industrial strength pet drier blowing a happy Winona flat was brilliant (Does them using the term "industrial strength" mean there might be heavy industry in Equestria?). The other pets were also good, but they are still pale in comparison to this:
Once again, Corey Powell proved that she really knows how to write Rainbow Dash.
Spike let greed (or gluttony) get the better of him, though fortunately he didn't become completely out of control. He definitely got the best of this episodes: the faces.
Seriously, look at those faces.
There was a lesson, humor was good, details were good. Overall, nice episode.
Mon Jan 28, 2013 5:54 pm
There was indeed a lesson. But was it learned?
Eh, kind of. Spike learned to be less greedy but he needs to work on his self control around gems. I'd hate to see what Spike would do if he found where Rarity keeps her gems.
I feel like this was mainly a gag episode.
True likes magic and exploration, this season has not provided a satisfactory amount so far... I don't want details and explanations, I want mystery and I shall have it. One way or another.

I have a gift for you guys from 2snacks:http://2snacks.tumblr.com/tagged/Super- ... ters-Brawl
Who will win in a Super Smash Bros battle royal between Celestia, Luna, and Cadence?
I already know because I saw the Sw1tcher video this is based off of, BUT DO YOU!?
Personally I would have preferred to see this done with the CMC, but I'm not going to tell 2snacks how to do his job (which he does for free).
I'm looking forward to this one as a Sw1tcher fan. How about you guys?
Tue Jan 29, 2013 3:00 am
After watching that, I was tempted to watch the original video it's being based off of, but... I'm holding myself from doing so. I want it to be a surprise.

I can understand that.
Knowing how it all went down, I am interested to see how 2snacks will interpret it with the princesses. The guy who does these animations actually is a friend of the Sw1tcher crew by the way.
There are certain parts I really want to see animated like how the first brawl ends with one of them being a bit of a sore looser. Even with out the ponies these guys are still really funny with just the audio.
I know where these videos are so if anyone actually does want to see the original video of Matt, Pat and Woolie this next animation is going to based off of I can set up a link here. It isn't directly pony related though so I don't know if that would be breaking the rules.
Its up to you guys and the mods I guess.
But like Mr. Sefrol said, it will spoil the winner for you.

I think the episode could have gone the better route of actually having Spike getting caught. Regardless of that even if he did learn his lesson for owning up to his responsibilities, he still did not learn to control himself from eating the gems. In any case, what I really like about Corey thus far is that she seems to be on level with the older fans. Obviously we can say that Meghan McCarthy has been the standout episode writer, but what Corey brings to the table coming in from season 3 and hopefully more seasons to come is writing episodes that either progress the characters or showing continuity that otherwise could have been dropped without a care (aka Peewee since Corey was not a writer at this time)

im so late on this forum heh....

It's all good. We're still pretty active, and you're just in time to wait for the season finale. In the meantime, relax, kick back, share some material you like and enjoy yourself here.

I personally still don't believe it.
No really, I don't think its gonna happen.
If it does, well SHIT! That's just silly and creates yet another OP character.
If there were all manner of hellish demons more powerful than Discord rising from Tartarus I might understand. But if Equestria isn't peaking in an all time height of crisis I see little point to it.
It would seem that the one writer's tweet about losing followers may already have confirmed this but who's to say. OR maybe they're all just screwing with us! Like that image is merely Twilight fantasizing and its not real, holy shit.
Tue Jan 29, 2013 3:20 pm
It's definitely happening, because it's on the MLP Facebook.

I would have to say indifferent. I think the approach they are going for is mostly to progress Twilight in her magic studies. This could present a lot of interesting ideas for episodes. I have no idea why people are so afraid of Twilight being an alicorn honestly. It is not like her character is gonna be changed. It will just come down to how the alicorn aspect is implemented in future episodes.

I like there being alicorns, and them being the sisters who are the rulers of certain things. Idk, I just find this cheap, and makes it like anypony can become a alicorn. Which, I know is not necessarily true, but it just feels that way.

Devil's Advocate... If becoming an Alicorn is likened to becoming a Princess, then what about Cinderella, Snow White, and Aladdin? Or for a Real Life example, Kate Middleton? If becoming an Alicorn is supposed to be something you earn, what about Barack Obama or Bill Gates?
Perhaps the episode will explain why Cadence is an Alicorn while Blueblood is not.
There's a reason that Twilight was Celestia's student. Maybe it's not fair, but that's one reason why it's Twilight and not Pinkie Pie becoming an Alicorn.
Tue Jan 29, 2013 6:16 pm
I can stop you right there, because no one is getting married for Twilight to become an alicorn. Cinderella, Snow White, and Aladdin all got married to their significant other and became a Princess, or in Aladdin's case, a Prince. Same with Kate.
Blueblood is now considered royalty because he is now married to Cadence. Twilight isn't anything besides Celestia's student. Just like Pippa Middleton isn't anything besides Kate's sister, who now happens to be royalty.
Tue Jan 29, 2013 6:33 pm
Blueblood didn't marry Cadence and I'm assuming he's still single, Stuff.
Also the way I see this whole Alicorn Twilight thing is that in the end it all comes down to how it is written. In the right hands even the most out there idea can work.
People thought Cadence was gonna suck, but now she's a well liked character.
People thought Star Wars Ep.1 was gonna rule, but now its one of the most hated movies ever.
The whole Alicorn Twilight thing is probably only going to be bad if they make it bad. I'm willing to show a little faith in the show's creators.

Here's the second bomb of the day: Looks like Alicorn Twilight is permanent (hence the new VA), and that does sound bad.
Oh wait, now I remember who Morgan Freeman is. I feel dumb.

Tara Trollstrong is up to her old tricks again. Leave it to her to lighten the mood.
Although it would be pretty cool to see Morgan Freeman do a new character's voice.

I confused Twilight's brother with Blueblood.
I just figured alicorns were a female thing. Since it being a little girl's show, it promotes women leadership.

I can't properly word where this new development takes my mind. Most of it is pretty awesome.
...But if we suddenly get a tidal wave of Sues, I'm stepping off the fandom.
