And also no more than 2 direct image per post. Even if they auto-resize, they still make things look messy.

That's not what I'm talking about when I'm speaking about "good" images and rules. I want a standard rule for decent content to be allowed, and not this trash of late.

I understand that we are all fans of MLP, and hold it dearly. Its all good to poke fun at yourself and somethings every once and a while. But I think we need to put a limit on the quality and content of said image. It needs to be at least somewhat respectful or this place turns into an extension of spam. For instance this:

Shouldn't be allowed. It isn't relevant save for a photoshop work and a terrible gif.

I would hesitate on the last five that you posted as well, Grieffon. While not as stupid as the other two, they aren't any better either.

Personally, I am very reluctant to impose and enforce a rule that can be so...subjective.

Yeah, now I look back those 2 weren't good to post. But what five? I didn't post anything after that.

It would be difficult to nail down what would be acceptable and what wouldn't. I'm having a hard time describing exactly what to put. My thoughts are that they can be funny by all means, but not clear out there in Trixie-sausage land. In the end it would have to rely on common sense... Which can also be difficult to find.

I would like to see a few things before I can comfortably enforce what you are asking.

1. Clear guidelines. I don't want any wishy-washy "Something like this" "Not something like that" sort of stuff. I want something that I can refer to if I have to deal with a reported post and something that all the folks can use as guidelines.

2. Agreement from most of the folks here on what's good and what's not.

3. Support for this from most of the folks posting here.

Policing images means more work for me and I'd rather not do something so drastic if I can avoid it. Doesn't feel right in the MLP spirit of things, you know?

My kind of humor tends to be a bit random and sometimes even morbid so I'm sorry if anything I've ever felt the need to share with you guys has done anything to piss you off. This, really. I dunno, the main problem with what Blood Lord wants to do is that it is very much a subjective thing to people whether an image is "good" or bad"---or, like in the cases above, "so bad it's funny" or "so bad it's not even funny at all." And, if we were to declare to people that we want "good" art here in the thread, it'll make people even more reluctant to post stuff, for fear of "what if what I think is good is bad to someone else?"

To me, this could potentially discourage people from posting at all in fear of being criticized. And, I dunno, I don't think that's really fitting in a thread that should make people feel...at home, perhaps? It's MLP, after all.

At the very least, we could simply encourage people to look for and share what they consider good or fantastic pieces of art, alongside the funny, but not outright make it a rule that they could potentially get "punished" for if they don't follow it.

Personally, thinking this hard about what's good to post and what isn't would make it even more like the spam forum than doing the opposite.

We should trust people here to post whatever and it be somewhat decent to see for a kick, an aww, or whatever. It shouldn't be necessary to enforce such a rule for exactly what Hiroko said, it possibly discouraging people to post what they like. It's been working for close to 600 pages now.
