Re: Fuck Yeah, Pokémans

I'm loving on some Mega Venusaur. Thick Fat, getting rid of his weaknesses to both Fire and Ice, leaving just flying and psychic. Not to mention the buffed amount of SP and Regular Defense is making him one of the best tanks in the game.

Except of course Eviolite +defense Chansey which can take a hammer arm without going yellow, yet her main weakness; Toxic cannot even effect this freaking monster. Drought Charizard is alright, but that's really only good for Flamethrower sweeping and we don't know what Blastoise is capable of yet.

From a Improvement over the Base Model standpoint, Venusaur is looking like the mac daddy.

Wait... Blaziken AND Lucario BOTH have Mega-Evolutions! YES!!! Now I just need Gardevoir and Mismagius to have one and my pokemon team will be full Mega 0.0

As for Charizard, his new ability is already overpowered... Honestly, it seems that his body has been shaped that way to match his ability - it's much more water-durable from the looks of it. Plus, the new shape may allow for generally faster speed and reaction time.

I'm kinda hoping for a Mega-Lopunny

Who's gonna be the mega normal type?

Well, there's already Mega Kangaskhan

For some reason, I'd always thought it was ground, since it said in the games that Giovanni specialized in ground types. Since I never gave Kangaskhan a glance, I never caught the discrepency.

I didn't even think of that. A Mega-Lopunny would be awesome.

I'm so glad they added the Fairy type. I've been wanting more types in Pokemon...

Ampharos' Mega Evolution is just FABULOUS~

Just look at those glorious locks

His mega is cool and all... but you know, being part Dragon isn't that great.

It gives him two additional weaknesses and doesn't cancel out his original Ground weakness.

Unless he's Sanic fast, I'm not seeing him being very viable.

So yeah, after seeing Thunderbolt's sig, I felt it best to let y'all know what my team would be (if I had full pokemon-world access).

Sorry for the poor version in my sig, it was apparently too high - so I had to edit it.

Anyway, NAME THOSE POKEMON! :D

I was confused too. Are they all the pokemon getting mega forms?

Looks like it, since the ones already listed are in there.

Yay, Gardevoir has a Mega form! ^^ Too bad Mismagius doesn't. She is in serious need of an upgrade.

Dragonite, Metagross and Garchomp mega forms... Oh god, they better be only for fun and not for online play. They don't need upgrades.

I seriously doubt that the pseudo legendary's are going to be legal in tournaments, much any mega form in general. If they do become legal though it's going to cause some serious changes. Not just online play too, actual tournaments as well. Garchomp's mega looks great though, minus his square chin which I find a bit strange.

I'm wondering if the mega forms are just alternate designs that the artist (or artists) wanted to try.

Do you mean they put those in there LIKE THAT because they liked their new designs...or that the Mega forms are only aesthetic. Because they're not just aesthetic - they give extreme upgrades to said pokemon in battle.

Personally, I do like it a lot, adding a sentai feel to the series. A nice bit of flash and sparkles to liven up the solo gameplay. But hopefully it only stays usable in solo play. It'd just be pokemon with mega forms in tournaments then if it wasn't.

Wasn't sure before, but looking it up Mega forms have variety in them, either increasing stats, changing types and even changing abilities between pokemon. Kinda curious what other megas other than Ampharos will have a type change and what it'll be.

Well, for competitive play we have to remember that these take "mega stones" to go into the Mega Evolutions.

In online/battle tower play it's more than possible that having more than one stone will count as a duplicate item and you're not allowed to super more than one pokemon per battle.

I think that fact alone will probably level the playing field while still leaving a lot of room to mess around and find out the new Meta.

Yes, more than one item anywhere of the same kind is illegal in tournament play, which does guarantee only one mega evolution per team. Now to be completely honest, I'm not sure just how powerful these mega evolutions get their stats boosted by. I suppose if they're within reasonable levels I suppose that you're right since Pokemon like Latias and Heatran and legal. I guess it's just the stat boosts that I'm worried about.

Mismagius is perfect the way she is.

Mewtwo will apparently have two mega forms. The other will have a focus on Fighting.

Re: Fuck Yeah, Pokémans

Tue Sep 17, 2013 11:17 am

Yeah I saw that a while ago. I love how it doesn't look like a Muppet anymore, it looks more like an armored Mewtwo.

The Other Mewtwo is Psychic/Fighting while the first one we saw is either still pure Psychic or perhaps Psychic and something else; probably Fairy.

The fighting form looks badass, imo. It makes me want to use Mewtwo.
