According to what still remains of my pokèmon knowledge, Pokerus should be a sort of illness, that, rather than damaging the afflicted pokèmon, gives him better stats.

I may be completely wrong though. I read that on a Silver-related cheat or something quite a while ago... about the same time I stopped playing my Silver version....

Maybe it's satiric. It might be pointing out how the Japanese have become so desensitized by the media and have lost touch with real life. That was just a random guess without too much thought.

Fav pokemon is Murkrow, then Aipom, then Lucario.

In short: Pokérus gives double EV points per battle. If you don't EV train it will just seem like they're getting stronger quicker.

Ahh, Pokemon. That brings up memories. My first game of all games was Pokemon Blue. Because all my friends had Red and I wanted to be different. Then, once my mom saw the graphics on Blue, decided to get me Yellow, because she heard Yellow has better graphics than Blue. Which is true, in a sense. Blue is has 3 colors in it. Blue, white, and black. Yellow has several and was in color. At least from what I recall. I last played Yellow at least 4 years ago. It was the best game ever. Blue was also good. I also got Silver when it came out after first renting it from BlockBuster. It was the only game I had ever rented from BlockBuster. (actually, I rented Gold as well, played both, went online to find the differences and decided I liked Silver better and Mom was only buying one.) Silver/Gold/Crystal were the best Pokemon games ever. I have every pokemon game since Blue except Red and Gold. God, I could talk about this subject for hours. Pokemon rocks.

My favorite one was Ampharos. Still is. It was the best electric pokemon from the best games. you can get Mareep really early, then evolve it to an Ampharos.

Agreed. I loved Ampharos! First electric pokemon I really trained, one of my best in my Pkmn playing history. Its speed makes it terrible for competitive play, but for strictly beating the game, it was ace.

It took me a looooong time to get into Crystal after I found out that you couldn't naturally catch a Mareep or Flaffy in the game...

meh. I just traded a hatched mareep with a bunch of egg and TM moves into crystal when I first played it.

The first time I ever played Pokemon was back when Red and Blue's graphics where still considered good. I played Blue first due to a friend, & I remember that my first playthrough was only time I actually lost against Blue/Gary/Green/Douche the second time you meet him, but only because I was careless. I chose a Charmander because I loved it (and still do) and the Pokemon I caught for the first time was a Nidorina.

I love almost all Pokemon games and have loooong given up on the animated series to stop looping itself since I was thirteen. My all time favourite version is Crystal. I'm not a fan of the Pearl/Diamond series, as most 'new' Pokemon look really ugly and recycled, and many first gen. Pokemon received new evolutions that are unnecessary, pointless, and makes them too powerful in order to enjoy raising them. Wasn't the whole point of Pokemon that power isn't everything? Just take a look at Electabuzz's new evolution. Was it really necessary?

Anyway, Pokemon games are a fun pastime even if you're not into Pokemon. FireRed is quite good for a revamp, and Fire Pokemon for the win FTW.

If you don't like the new ones then don't use them. They had to add new Pokémon otherwise there'd be no point. Don't like the new evolutions? Don't evolve it.

Like I said before, even if there's only two new, useful Pokémon to me (At least Luxray and Staraptor, if I don't bother with Glaceon and Leafeon) that's a good outcome.

Agreed. But you have to admit that this addition partly kills the fun of raising the Pokemon. Then again, it could be only me.

Glaceon and Leafeon were good additions, but had only one of them made it to the final product, Eevee breeders could have raised six different Eevees without worry in order to make a complete Eevee group. Then again, the seventh evolution makes the grouping less predicable, so I'll stay silent now.



Perhaps it's because you really want them to be timid? Sometimes- who am I kidding? Almost all the time, if you start thinking to want something in Pokemon, the thing hardly pops up. Like if you really want to catch a Skitty or a Pikachu early back in Ruby/Sapphire, the Pokemon hardly shows up. Or in Silver/Crystal/Gold, you are restlessly chasing the legendary dogs yet they always seem to be two steps ahead of you. Perhaps this works only for me, but the minute you stop wanting the thing badly and start taking the expedition less restlessly, what ever you're looking for clashes right into you. That's how I managed to catch Entei and Raiden (after much chasing).

Wow I'm lame.. all the cool stuff going on in here.. and I decide to finally sign up to reply to a pokemon thread..

I'm 26, in possession of XD Gale of Darkness, Emerald, FireRed, LeafGreen, Pearl and Diamond.

Unable to find a link to hookup onto the wifi network regularly. Might have to by a wifi usb thingy. But really with work and other things don't get around to any of my games often.

I got lucky when I bought a used copy of Emerald.. came with three level 100 pokemon. Rayquaza, Wailord and Sceptile.

From all my games.. I can EVENTUALLY get all but like 20 pokemon on my own. Non-DS tradevolve pokemon I can get, DS pokemon I cannot get the trade-evolves. I'm missing the 'special event' or 'one time only' pokemon like Mew, Celebi, Deoxy's.. and a few others like that.

With AGNPH and the various great artwork there.. I've stopped having a favorite pokemon.. My goal is to achieve a team of naught but female pokemon. And have my mental fantasies of what I do 'off storyline' with them.. *cough*

I do have all twelve starters.. and will get all their final evolved forms. Breeding is fun. And yes, I have the pokevirus.. and I know how to spread it to every pokemon in my games. I got lucky getting it, before the elite four in emerald. And i just infected and traded pokemon around and transfered to DS so I have at least 2 infected pokemon in each game.

I've not once even SEEN a shiny pokemon in any of my games.. bah.. I've breed like 50 eevee's without a single female.. (and I end up just releasing a ton into the wild..)

In general reply to some of the earlier ones.. Milotic isn't that hard to aquire... if you can get your hands on either a feebas or milotic.. even if TEMPORARY.. breed the hell out of it. get yourself a dozen feebas's and max the one that is the 'best's beauty.. and boom.. you got a kickass Milotic.

And for Lugia.. Recover is a very nice addition to it's moveset.
Has anyone ever managed to make a Pikachu with identical moveset as Ash's Pikachu from the series? If so.. is it worth it?

I almost always end up with a high level Gyrados and a high level Golbat/Crobat in my team in the first elite four match in pre-DS games.

All have had the pokevirus and have recovered. It's not my ace team.. just what I'm currently walking around with... I think I was working on leveling up Roserade... or just having them in my part so my virus/levelup pokemon don't lose their virus waiting. Been.. like... a month since I turned it on last.

Just looked at what was in my storage.. I'm working on a team of Dragon Type pokemon.. Got a Dratini, Bagon, Gabite all waiting to level.. oh cool.. I have a level 1 Feebas female in my box .. hehe.. that sounded wrong.

Yeah.. I have all 6 fossil pokemon.... blah.. blah.. I'm going on.. safe to say.. I have LOTS of pokemon.. Ok.. I have all the eeveelutions plus 4 eevee's.. almost all the 'baby' pokemon (minus the legendary ones) All the unknown.. including the ! and ? ones.. (is there anything I can do with the unknown to get something cool? in Diamond?)

Thanks to buttercup saiyan.. I thing Frosslass is on my top three pokemon.. I have a level 1 Frosslass. It's funny that they introduced gender only evolutions.. makes me think they'll do some 'other' stuff....

I've also been watching WAY too much DBZ lately.. next PKMN game they release needs a fusion system.... ... what?
