ok I'm having trouble finding a reference pic for the background to my rastel one. I have little to no idea how to draw her standing in a calm forest pool with the water covering her feet and I need help finding pics I can use as reference.

Try National Geographic. They have stunning pics of forests and pools. Try looking at image sites or picture books on Japan. Maybe Central Japan (Kyoto) or Sothern Japan (Osaka). Hokkiado might also be a good choice.
