Bleedman

Postby Redstar » Sun Nov 21, 2004 9:08 pm

Now I've been here for a few days now, and I have a fine assortment of posts too. I've read Bleedman's comic, and I can honestly say that I'm interested and intrigued on both the story and the art style.

I checked out his forum profile today, and it seems that he has never posted at all. That's very sad, because this is his own forum and comic and he should take pride in coming here to talk to his fans. Would anyone here know if he ever at least just skims the forum? Because I would really like to talk to him, as I know that most of you do too. We would all like to share our ideas and let him know how we feel so far, and I think he would appreciate so many viewpoints. Does anyone feel the same way as me? I don't really know, but I do know that I'm going to send him an E-mail asking him if he could at least come in once and post here and there, and I advise most of you to do the same. If he gets enough E-mails, he just might be persuaded enough to come in and see how things are going.

I have to agree with you but bleedman is probably at work most of the time and he has to spend the rest of his time to draw, sleep, eat, and socialize.

He probably skims occasionaly, but he is so insecure about his bad english, that he won't post. So good luck reaching him. If he came and practiced, he might get better, but I get the feeling he is shy about this.
"I saw it, there, in the sewers...for just a second. All hunched over, skin pale white beneath those rags...so many rags. The vermin crawled about his feet like idolaters at worship, and I swear that the wind drew breath in a frightened gasp at his passing. He wore cold like a cloak and I swear that behind that smiling golden mask he was laughing at me as his curved blade rose and fell, cutting through my men. It left wounds filled with crystals of salt...the screams...the screams...and the pants....Gods! The Pants!!!"

It's his forum! Why shouldn't he want to come, despite his poor English skills? It would be nothing to be ashamed of. Besides, English isn't too great of a language anyways. Whatever he speaks, I'm sure it's much easier and fluent than ours.

Well of course as an adult he'll be busy. But aren't we all busy at one time or another? I'm sure he wouldn't mind a simple E-mail in his inbox. He's bound to get one at one time or another, and I think he'd appreciate a nice E-mail from a devoted fan. So why not everyone send one complimenting him and encouraging him to come and mingle with the fans for a while?

I'm not sure if you're asking me why I think this, or why he does. But I'll answer both.

First of all, I'm only saying that because I'm believing what someone else said. Second, I think it's because he's from the Philippines. At least, that’s what I have grasped.

You also have to take into account that he might be a very busy man, only with enough time to just skim some topics evey once in a while...

Adding to the above posts, you have to remember that real life comes first. I know of another message board where the lead administrator posted only a few times per half year, and eventually he became so consumed in his life that he called quits and handed his position down to his right-hand man. None of the members could blame him for it.

Whoa... Pinoy...? That's crazy...

Let's see, though... I believe there is a 16-hour difference from PST to the Philippines... He'd more than likely be working right now...

Hmm... Maybe I can translate... Or rather, maybe I can get my parents to translate... (This is what I get for being American-born... Never learn your native language fluently, as well as never fully develop a complete liking to your own food... Wouldn't mind trying some balut, but that's for another post.)

Well, at least he's in the Philippines, which is more English-fluent than other countries in that area. Makes learning english grammar a lot easier.

Kind of ironic that currently he's skimming the forum right now.

Bleedman knows English. He just has his hands full most of the time.

I once recieved an e-mail from him. It sounded like he was in a real rush to respond. I don't blame him, considering the requirements in schools of the Asian education system (lots of homework, very hard, etc.). Of course then, I don't know if Bleedman is a college graduate or not...

K seriously Redstar that's not cool to make a topic to spam Bleedman's email inbox. I know you didn't mean any harm by it but as said above he's from the phillipines and doesn't speak English very well. Next time you post frequently in an exclusively German/Frech/Spanish/etc forum you can talk. And yeah Bleedman is already more than overwhelmed by e-mails as is. I know you just want to internet "hang out" with him and who can blame you he's a cool guy but he has a lot of other priorities. He has a full time job and takes time out to make this comic, for free, for your amusement. He hardly owes anyone more than what he's already giving. And also as mentioned above he does skim over the forum from time to time.

I recently emailed him asking about his schooling and such in the way of graphic art. In reply i recieved word that he did an interview with Manga Revolution, while its not up yet i imagine once its posted it could answer questions about how he creates the comics(programs and skills).

I agree with Dave. We should make Bleedman a Huge Thankyou card for all that he has done. How much does postage cost to send a huge thankyou card to the phillipines? Might be easier to make it and send it to him online. No he's more than likely swamped with email...... I'll figure out a way to get it to him.

My relatives are in the Philippines, and I use 80 cent stamps to send letters to them... but those are letters... and it depends on the heaviness (like if it has pictures that cause the extra weight)...

I haven't actually tried sending a big thank you card to someone there --'... so my piece of info isn't very helpful...

... sorry ^^;
During the day, in the middle of the night,
two dead boys got up to fight.
Back to back they faced each other,
drew their swords and shot each other.
A deaf policeman heard the noise,
came and shot the two dead boys.
And if you dont believe that this lie is true,
ask the blind man, he saw it too.

I spent like 7 bucks sending stuff to him in a cardboard tube.

The guy's a busy man, but it's not like he doesn't appreciate his fans. He's really good at replying to his e-mails too ^^ Anyways, I think we should consider ourselves lucky that he's as dedicated to this fan project as he is. I mean, as Jake said, real life comes first, yet you can always depend on that Sunday post, and if not, he always gives his reasons. And I mean, the pages that he cranks out each week are superb in quality, these aren't your average 2 hour photoshop jobs or notebook scribbles. And I've caught him checking up on us before. Just because he remains silent doesn't mean he's not around. I think we're lucky as fans, I mean, there are a lot of cases of projects getting huge fanbases and the creator ends up having to cut themselves away from them just to relax. Bleedman does an excellent job in keeping his rabid legions happy if you ask me ^_^ Dave's right, he owes us no more than what he has given.

Now I do understand that Bleedman is a busy man considering work and life. But I didn't just beg him to come to us, nor did I insult him and say that he's an unconcerned idiot. I just intelligently asked him if he could consider posting every once in awhile, or at least skim. He replied quickly, to my joy. I guess I acted too soon, because he does skim and holds our ideas in great consideration.

I should think that constantly saying that one reason he doesn't post is because of poor English skills. Even if he does have poor English skills, I should think it rude to mention it as a possible reason. If he sees that people think so, he might as well not post for fear of proving us right. Come on! This is the Internet; it shouldn't matter how well you type or anything. People usually don't care anyway and we can still understand.

I've sent him a couple of email about a project I'm working on. I get pretty short (but thankfully positive) replies. The bad English would explain the short replies whilst still maintaining my delusions that he'll show up at my game in the near future. ;)

well, if youll guys understand that he know's English verry well, but a lil needed work on the Enlglish language skills. ;)

I remember in DA 2 months ago, I send a note to him a request to make a Blossom and Dexter wallpaper, and he replied that he will try to do it. but a couple weeks later I note/ask him hows the wallpaper and he didnt replied me back. :(

so he's prolly busy alot, inclouding work and School and doesent have the time to talk to us. couse he knows he has alot (I say a THOUSAND in DA) of fans and doesent have the time to get togather and talk, thats why he doesent post in his forums. ;)

and Iv aways wanted to talk to him too for 3 months. so you guys are not the only ones :P
