Two steps ahead of you.

Me and Oddette are writing up a comic based loosely on PPGD, about well known cartoon and video game characters in High School on the Pacific coast.

And it's a little more...tough.

If Oddette says yes, I can show you a character sketch of 'Ed' from Ed, Edd, and Eddy that we have.

Shutterfly sucks at resizing pictures and making them real small, but it's the basic idea....

Very nicely drawn. Heh, I can see "Ed, Edd, and Eddy: 10 Years from Now" being a really emo cartoon about kids growing up in suburbia (like a cartoon verson of The Adventures of Pete and Pete, only with more jawbreaker-related shenanigans)...of course that isn't nessisarily a good thing.

I hope you're kidding. It fit perfectly that he would become a stoner as a teen.

Duh!

Ok, not to be a total JA, but that doesnt look nothing like Ed. Just his shirt. And Double D's hat is longer then that.

We're not going for replicas. We're basing what they'd look like in anime format as teenagers, so obviously they're going to be a little different.

I doubt Double D has a doo rag, either, so a simple ski cap is fine.

If bleedman went for replicas, the PPG wouldn't have fingers ;)

I, myself, think the makeovers are rad.

though i do agree they will look a lil different, they do have to look somewhat the same as they do in their younger ears. no one will change completly...

though I had a bit of trouble with the refrance pictures, I actually thing I did a rather good job. Converting western cartoon style to anime isn't exactily a walk in the park, neither is age diffrance, but I think that my view on it wasn't that bad at all...'cept it could've been better had I not of given Ed a chin...but I don't think Ben nor I would really go for that o_O

These images are definately well drawn, but they do lack characterization. You guys should just try to get some of that "Brainless Ed" look back in him. Give him more sparse, messy hair that is short like a crew cut. Even if he is bigger and taller, the clothes shouldn't fit him very well. He should have a vacant stare looking in two directions like he does in the show. (Yes I have seen it a few times.)
Double D is okay. Not as shrimpy as he should be, but close enough.
Not that I am dissing your pictures, just some suggestions.

I guess you guys will just have to wait to see the comic before you get what we're trying to do...

We're not doing the same thing bleedman did...well, we are, but we're taking the characters into the realworld, thus trying to base them on a little reality and not make them super loony.

As in case, Ed's eyes flailing about.

Err, isn't Eddy the retarded one and Ed the scheming one? Not sure, I'm not an avid fan of the show.

And please tell me those three aren't goin to be the main characters...

Ed is the 'retarded' one, and eddy is scheming.

And no, they are more of the...comic relief?

Ah, good. The Ed's are great at that, but as the stars? Shenanagins like that can only go on for so long before it gets old as dirt.
