Your saying stuff doesn't age in Hell? That would then require that Minnie be captured soon after the events WHAM. I think her body just doesn't age. Also if Afterbirth follows a mission to rescue Minnie, I would be disappointed. That's so straight forward. I demand a psychological thrill from my stories. Give me some wrenching decisions, some societal controversy, some deep rooted conspiracy to explore.
Also, tons of potential plots fill all of those points. Jr could be fighting those monsters for millions of reasons, and he could be talking to his parents in order to get a straight answer as to WTF is going on around here.

@Imosa I would be disappointed by that being the core plot as well, but I could see it being used as a catalyst to advance the plot to bigger and better things. How many world-saving (or destroying) RPGs start with the hero rescuing a village local from a cave of wolves or something, after all?

That Danielle comment DD made has been bugging me... The way he talks of "working on it", she obviously isn't dead/destroyed/whatever you call it when ghosts meet a permanent end. Maybe he tried corrupting her but she rebelled and turned for the good? Either way, I can't imagine her not appearing in the comic at some future time now...

No im no saing that it dosent age , more like her soul was riped from her body. And Grim family stashed the body somewere wrere it will be safe and isn't roting (i doubt that JR sceleton body would grow, or move, or stay alive, without a soul, same with Minnie's frankenbody)
Also simple things that are horribly twisted may become a masterpiece with the same chances as some thing new and unexpected. (becouse in the end something new, is always something old and simple that was twisted by the human's imagination).
   And bleedman's comics are always twisted (thats is the reason why we love it)   

Yes, I don't like it as the core plot. Sure she can get captured and sure it can be interesting. I don't know why anyone would want her though.
I thought I'd make a note on the depression thing. Minnie is going to be useless in Afterbirth because Junior seems to learn how to control the Nergals. Feeling worthless, that is a reason for depression.
It sounded to me like Dan was "working" on a girl's name just in case Mandy had a girl.

Ok, what is the horrible twist in your plot? If all you say is Minnie gets kidnapped and Junior rescues her, then that doesn't sound interesting. You have to sell the idea a little more.

Well if you look at it that way than every plot is based on:
1)The main hero wants to achive something,
2)the story is about him achiving that some some thing (some times the hero dosent ewen knows what it is until the end),
3)then there are posible finals
a)he achived it and lived hapily ever after.
b)he achived it but died in the end.
c)he achived it but lost some thing even more imporntant. (life of someone dear to him for example)
d)he died in misery without achiving it, but left an example.
f)he understand that he alredy have it or dosent need it anymore (usualy when he already accomplished the task).
Absolutely every story based on this.

My point is, the diference being made by how the story will be served.
Even the simplest plot, like the one i mentioned can become some thing tasty if you add some mistery,
drama, comedy and sexual content in right proportions.
