And as Frieza pointed out, Street Fighter got to it before them. Don't worry about it too much. Making a characters hair or skin darker to signify an evil or dangerous power up isn't all that uncommon, and the inverted eye color shows up even more often than that. So don't sweat it. It's not like you gave him actual sharingan.
