Fishing is by far the best way to make money. What you gotta do is aim the 'cast' so that it goes in front of the fish's head. Often this means that you have to cast upstream and let it flow to it downstream. Then if the fish 'sees' it, he will nibble on it for awhile, but DON'T press A until the bob goes underwater (you'll se a little splash). Then you have to tap A repeatedly to fight the fish until you pull him out of the water :D Don't forget to donate fishes to the museum! Hope that helps

Also, is anything going on in anyone's town for Christmas? I swear they had celebrations for it in the GC version, but in this one there don't seem to be any...? (Yes my date is set right )

the ghost in the original would do something like offer to pick all the weeds in your town if you did a favor for him. if i'm not mistaken, he usually showed up around 1-3 am. i think it was an all-year thing, but i'm not positive

...Actually you only have to tap your character ONCE when the bob goes under. It's an automatic catch. And if you you have the volume turned up you will hear a small noise telling you that the fish is on the hook.

You can actually tap ANYWHERE on the screen, or just press A with the right timing.

But yeah, that's what I've been doing. Though, I really sometimes wish the fossils that I find I've already found, so I can SELL IT.

Cause I always donate whatever I can to the museum (since it looks better).

Personally though, I like Animal Crossing more during the Spring and Summer months, so I can actually catch insects (and put them into the museum).
Not to mention, different fishes (and seemingly, more river fishes).

Augh my town sucks! I have a huge river system and only one dinky pond.
Also, anyone figured out the Snowman thing? Supposedly if you get two snowballs, roll one to the size of a basketball and roll the other onto the first one, it will tunr into a magic snowman who gives you snowman gifts.

Side note: If you get friends to make a character in your town then they can move and sell any items in your house. Which is really bad if you both have conflicting ideas on interior design.

I make snowmen all the time ! It's fun :3 So far I have the snowman table, snowman chair and snowman lamp.

Step 1) Locate the two snowballs in the town. There are two generated every day that there is snow.

Step 2) In as easy a way as possible, roll the snowballs to each other. Make sure that you don't roll it too fast, or into an obstruction or body of water. If you do that, then you have to try again tomorrow

Step 3) Once the snowballs are together, depending on how far they had to come, you may have to roll them around in the snow more until they get bigger.

Step 4) Once they are big enough, roll them together and they form a snowman! The snowman will make a comment based on how you built him (normally size and proportions).

Step 5) If he likes how he is built, tomorrow you will get a letter from the snowman with a snowman gift!

I haven't found any golden holes or red rocks in the DS game, which is making the mortgage hard to pay off. The painting was 3k afterwards. I caught a red snapper which payed for it though.

I found two red rocks, but they don't turn 'red' ... you hit them and money comes out, and it does seem like timing is an issue, but the increments go up 100 bells, 200, 300, 400 etc.
