I'm about to ask you, the reader, why games get so much praise even though they have far too many jumpscares
OUTLAST is a very popular horror game that takes place in a asylum for its creative characters and setting, but it's filled with jumpscares. And jumpscares are cheap because it's just to get a quick scare out of you.

Slenderman was soooo boring. Most of my friends and I started to search for him because of how boring it was. I usually don't play jumpscares, they're predictable. Jumpscares are usually well done when it's within a game that's scary on its own, and when you get used to the type of horrors they have, JUMPSCARE!
My first jump scare was with the crows from Resident Evil 2. The audio was loud and I was crossing the corridor in the Raccoon Police Department, and then it happened when the windows cracked. Didn't startle me too much to say the least, there could have been worse beyond the Resident Evil games, and there is.
What was funny about it though was that I always remember when I was younger that there was around seven or eight, but in fact there were only THREE birds that intruded the area. THREE BIRDS.
