Quite a few classics there. Haven't played the last two, personally.

Yeah. My brother was the one who was interested in downloading Super Mario RPG and Chrono Trigger, since both seem to be highly regarded as one of the best RPG games on some level or another. I was curious about Yoshi's Story and Majora's Mask (the former because people seemed to like it so much, the latter because Tumblr people always seem to be shitting their pants over how creepy it is, so I was curious), so I suggested getting those two as well.
The odd one out is FFVI, since we actually have the physical SNES copy of it (ya know, back when it was called "Final Fantasy III" instead). My brother didn't want to get it because of this, but I wanted the digital copy because I was getting worried about how old our SNES and that game cartridge were getting. Don't know for how much longer they'll last, ya know? And FFVI was my favorite of all the Final Fantasy games, so I wanted to have the extra copy.
Plus, then I'd be able to actually show my friend the game without having to drag my SNES over to her house--which is a bad idea on several levels, given how fragile it's become. Give it the slightest of nudges, and it'll shut down. :c Imagine having it in the presence of the five-year-old sister of your friend... >_>;

I know that problem. My NES is pretty much at the point where it only shows the screen in black and white. It's kind of a shame, cuz it's not as fun playing Little Nemo or Kirby's Adventure in black and white.
Hope you have fun with Yoshi's Story, and Chrono Trigger and Super Mario RPG, if you decide to play those two.

Ugh, yeah, that is a shame. :c
Anyway, thanks. :D We've actually completed Super Mario RPG and Yoshi's Island (I need to play this more, lol), and we're working on Chrono Trigger now. Gotta say, Chrono Trigger certainly lives up to expectations. I really like the writing in the game so far--especially the characterization of the characters. ouo

Glad you're enjoying them. Chrono Trigger is definitely a game I wish I'd played when I was younger.

No idea last game I bought, I usually just ask for them for birthdays and xmas

I downloaded the marathon aleph one source engine if that counts.

Just bought both Arkham Asylum and Arkham City, I know I'm a bit late to the game, but they were so cheap and both came with all the DLC.

The Last Story for the Wii, which was a few months ago. I still haven't beaten it though, mostly because I lost interest.

Cry of Fear. Looks and sounds scary.

I bought Dragon's Dogma last week, and I'm loving it. I bought the Dark Arisen edition with all the extra shit.

Not as good as the first one, yet at the same time better... as strange as that might sound. I feel like there's too much focus on the FPS part and not on the tower defense part. It looks drop dead gorgeous though.
Sun May 19, 2013 12:50 pm
I was looking at that. Didn't look like my cup of tea though.

The first Sanctum did feel better... It was more focused on the Tower Defense part with the FPS part as a bonus. Sanctum 2 is the opposite, with a bigger focus on FPS and less so on Tower Defense. It's still a great game though.

I like me some FPS, but I was thinking I may give that Monaco (?) game in the XBLA a try.

Randori wrote:I got bootleg versions of Metal Slug 5 (Xbox), Wario Land Shake It (Wii), Crash Bandicoot: The Wrath of Cortex (Xbox), and Call of Duty: Black Ops (Wii). I have to say: they're pretty good... for a bootleg.
Okay, I have to comment on this: they all didn't work, and I burned them in my fireplace.
P.S. Do NOT burn your CDs on a fireplace. Smells horrible.

Pokemon White 2.
Which is funny, cuz' I haven't completed White 1.

If it weren't for exclusives I woulda got Black.

Just bought DarkSector for $2, and XBLA Hits for $6 (Which includes Bejeweled and Geometry Wars, and a few others I could give a crap about).
As for DarkSector, it's sooooo good, except for some small features, like the ability to save, you have to play each chapter all in one sitting, which the one I just beat was about 2 hours. Feels like Gears of War mixed with Resident Evil.
Now I'm gonna' go play some Halo.

Just bought Resident Evil Revelations for the X360. It's pretty good, and it's brought back some elements that made the series fun.
Sun May 26, 2013 9:34 am
How are the controls. The one time I played Resident Evil 6, the controls were butt.
Sun May 26, 2013 1:41 pm
Well, the controls don't seem clunky, not to me. The cover system's been removed, dodging can only executed with proper timing, enemies don't drop items (so you have to search for supplies), and the enemy AI can sometimes be somewhat clever (especially with Hunters). In addition, individual enemies can sometimes be a threat by themselves (and I'm not just talking about bosses). Lastly, there's no way to get "infinite" ammo, so you'll always be scrounging (with the exception of an infinite Rocket Laucher, but you have to beat the game on the hardest difficulty for that, so you feel like you've earned it). The entire game seems to have brought back a creepy feel to the series, and fighting the final boss make me think of Castlevania (namely the ambiance of the room, and the appearance of the boss himself).

The game I remember actually paying for is Twisted Metal 2012.
Live-action cutscenes are nice, but I don't really like the racing bits added in it.
Mon Jun 24, 2013 9:14 pm
Soon enough, the last video game I get will now be Wii Fit Plus.
Tue Jun 25, 2013 2:47 am
The last game I bought was Animal Crossing New Leaf. It's a better experience now that I have an online presence. It's fun talking and playing with other people.
Planning on getting Fire Emblem Awakening soon.

I purchased the new Shadowrun game. Not due to come out until July 26th, but man I miss playing that game for SNES. Cant wait to see what the new one is like.
Oh, also got State of Decay for the 360. Game is absolutely amazing for a zombie game. Enjoying open world setup and the home defense setup you have to do. Also neat that you cant just continuously reloot areas. Once it's used, it's gone. Any supplies you looted from a building is gone for good once you've looted it, and that goes for any vehicles you find. You damage them beyond repair, that car is gone for the rest of the game and a new one isnt just magically respawned.
