Some games have good music some have less, some have no music at all.
which games soundtrack you like the most? (youtube links will be appreciated)

for me personally I was always a fan of the old C&C music like hell march
as well as heroes of might and magic soundtrack that changes which every town you go into.

But sometimes I prefer to mute the sound of the game and put on my own tracks that I think fit the mood better, do you people ever do it?

aw yeah, I love gaming scores!

Here are some of my favorites:

Jesper Kyd - "Venice Rooftops" (assassins creed)

Nervous_testpilot - "Triumph" (Frozen Synapse) <- The entire OST of that game is just insanely good

Evil Genius OST - "Main Menu" Best menu music ever

Beyond Good & Evil OST - "Home Sweet Home"

Metal Gear Solid OST - "The Best is Yet To Come" I think this one is only good in context. Nostalgia all over

I don't have much from games, I just get one here and there. Some being rearranged versions. For example...

"Tristram Ver. 2" - Matt Uelmen (Diablo II)

"Credit Line of Whole Staff" - Masami Ueda (Resident Evil 2)

"Moon of Petersburg -arranged-" - Alph Lyra (Strider)

"Snake Eater" - Cynthia Harrell (MGS 3)

"Dance of Illusion" - Yasushi Asada (Any Castlevania with Dracula)

I like the soundtracks to Persona 4, Legend of Dragoon, Super Mario RPG: Legend of the Seven Stars, and Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne. I also like one track from Chrono Cross.

The Scott Pilgrim game had some awesome tunes. Try listening to Matthew Patel's Boss Music and NOT rockin' out

Music from games make up a large part of my roleplaying theme music collection, and am always looking for more.

I still have a weakness for Final Fantasy music in particular, mostly from the sixth and seventh game. Of which Terra's Theme probably is my all-time favourite. I still remember the first time I played it, stepping into the overworld and wondering why this place had such nice music. Generally, I love all the opening piano pieces, and the final boss themes, to death.

Shin Megami Tensei: Nocturne had a fairly eclectic and rockish soundtrack that I personally much preferred to Persona's more J-pop inspired soundtrack.

Ar Tonelico can't go without a mention. The theme of the game itself is music. They have plenty of odd singing, epic emotions, upbeat travel music and boss themes.

Crimsonland has a total of like, 4 songs, but goddamn, I love it's hardcore riff rock.

Metal Gear Solid is always good in a movie like manner (theme comes in at 0:50), occasionally bordering to the James Bond-ish.

Blizzard's music doesn't jump out to me much while playing the games, but when you sit down to listen to it, it's damn good.

Once I've played the game for a while and have heard all of the music in it, multiple times, I switch on my own, mostly for the sake of variety. After a while, it's also good to hear some music that isn't cut off every time you open a menu or enter a random encounter.

I just love the silly acapella tunes Crash Twinsanity had. It fit the game so well... :D
I especially love this one. Too bad Twinsanty was the last enjoyable Crash game...
Also, I just really like the music the dot-hack series has... Mainly from the G.U. trilogy. Most of it sounds so soothing.

My favorite is the track "fiend," which plays when you battle with the namesakes.

Megaten games do have great sound tracks, but for my money, the best sound track of any video game was
Brutal Legend, the whole game was metal.

About 50+ percent of my iTunes is all VGM. I have music from NIS (+200 songs), DDR, Multiple Final Fantasies, Multiple Pokemons, and then some other games just thrown in (Like Spyro and Guild Wars)
Of course, I have too much to recommend.

Some online games I play or used to play, like WoW, I usually play other VGM's while I play that. For those that play WoW, listening to the Meta Ridley boss theme from SSBB while you go through dungeons just feels so fitting~

You guys should look for the Video Games Live collection of music. Some phenomenal work they've done on video game songs, in particular Halo, Zelda, Castlevania and my personal favs would be the Chrono Trigger/Cross songs. There's something about the Chrono Cross theme that's just really really lively and spirited.

My favorite track from Chrono Cross is "Dragon God." The only one with any vocals (if I am not mistaken).

Yea. I used to listen to that song over and over again all the time. But as for what I enjoy, I listen often to what the Nintendo Orchestra has to offer. I love listening to all the remakes they have for all their games of old. As for Halo, I like the Halo: ODST soundtrack because of that Jazzy mood they added to it.

The last Halo OST I heard was from the second one and only because Steve Vai played on it.
Where's this Video Games Live at, youtube? I'd like to check out the Castlevania ones.

Yeah you should be able to find them on youtube, but I downloaded the entire CD they have out. Their Halo one is nice too cause it's a montage theme basically, they play through all 3 of the Halo themes in one inning.

The DVD they have released is called Video Games Live Level 2
Castlevania
Halo
Zelda
Chrono Cross
Super Mario Bros
