Skyrim, there shouldn't even be a question about that. I imagine war of the North to be a very linear game, whereas Skyrim lets you do just about everything you could think of.

To put it simple, Skyrim gives you much (MUCH) more bang for buck.

The Lord of the Rings: War in the North - Combat

X

The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim - Combat

It's fun take off some Orc's heads and arms...
And Skyrim is a little limited about combo skills and stuff.

I don't really know...

But in Skyrim, at the least, can ride on a horse...

Yeah but too bad.

I bought The Lord of the Rings: War in the North for two reasons:

1- In the shop where I did go didn't have Skyrim.

2- War in the North is in Portuguese. :D

Wait, there's a portuguese version of game?
...
I've only seen one good translation of a game to portuguese and it was many years ago. I'd go with the english version.

I honestly had forgot this little detail. :B

I remember about a new in Gamevicio.com.br about the War in the North that it will launch in Portuguese from Brazil. I don't know about Portuguese from Portugal...

Batman: Arkhan City had launch in Portuguese too. And it is really good.
I am now keeping my eye on Uncheart 3 which will be dubbed in Portuguese(!).

Ugh, I'd never get Arkham City in portuguese. I wouldn't have Kevin Conroy and Mark Hamill that way.

You consider getting a game in your native (if you're not English speaking) to be a plus?

No wonder you got a LotR over Skyrim, you dont know what you're talking about :D

You should've waited for Saints Row 3.

Well... YEAH.

For example: Try to play L.A. Noire in another language instead of English and you'll understand how plus is a game translated to your native language, specially when you want to resolve puzzles and do interrogations on criminals.

About LotR game: Until now I found just one error in the translation of the game:
One of those elf twins said "Falharm" without an "A" between "R" and "M".
A typographical error. It's normal, even The Sims has some of those.

You are right about that.
I don't know really well about Skyrim but about LotR, everybody knows. :P
I need to search for more information about the game itself before have an another chance to buy it.
If don't launch a game cooler before that, of course.

Game being translated to your language is no good. Original version or no version for me, and considering your english is awful you should play more games in that language. Lots of RPGs in english is how I learned it.

I'd have more trouble understanding what they are saying in my native language, than in English. And may I point out that L.A. Noire is possibly the worst example you could've given? All the facial animations were captured using the English language, so they dont fit as well with another language.

Also, to put things into perspective, here's some Metacritic scores:

Skyrim: 96 (placing it in the top 10 best games ever released)

War in the North: 69

So... yeah... If you ask me, you made a very bad choice

If you're deciding between those 2 specific games, I believe Skyrim is the obvious choice. Not really that familiar with the LotR game though, so I might be a bit biased.
