Guess not that many people in the forum got it... Or just spending time trying it out.

Anyway, tip: When you find Lautrec, the knight in gold armor locked in the Parish, might want to kill him, just to be on the safe side. Won't spoil it, but... If anyone played Demon's Souls, think of Yurt when you meet Lautrec.

The games both have rather simple storylines. But they didn't use the plot of the last Souls in the new one, so they won't be referencing things that'll fly over your head.

This one's also on 360, though, if you have the system and would prefer it on that.

Also they're shutting down Demon's Souls servers next year.
Though the OST bundle (Currently 27-ish) still looks tempting.

I went down for a while, just ran past the guard and whacked a few trees then decided that the guard is too annoying to run past every time and decided to die and farm enough souls for my Drake Sword, then I shall challenge him again! I just finished farming, might challenge one of the black knights (specifically the one on the spiral tower right after the bridge) before going to the forest.

What is that crest for anyway? 20k souls, I'm not sure if I can save that much when running through the forest . Saw some pretty tough guys when watching streams.

After a while he should fly up to the bridge into melee range for a few moments.

Also I'm sooooooo disappointed in Ornstein's spear, I thought it was about to be sexy but it's really bad compared to some of the other stuff I have right now.

And using the Drake Sword will take off about a third of Moon's whole bar in three hits, so just stay defensive and wait until it lands, Hardty.

Gwyn is not kind to melee characters... Have to use my fast, weaker weaponry just to hit him. Gonna need to summon someone to occupy his attention so I can smack him around a bit with my +15 stick o' doom. (Great Club.)

BG: As far as lightning weapons go, it sucks. Even when fully upgraded, the regular lightning spear has damage totals much higher in the menu screen. But, for folks who might carry lightning resistance by default, it has higher physical strength to compensate for damage dampening it does to others. And the stat bonuses mean it actually grows with you, unlike the other lightning stuff. Just gonna want high Dex to really work that thing well.

Unless you do backstabs and parries a lot, then it just gets put to shame on a regular basis.

Spears aren't really my style though and I was just disappointed in it as a boss weapon in general.

I watched my friend take on Gwyn and he looks like he'll be a tough one to beat, especially since my weapon of choice is the Lightning Zweihander which demolishes just about everything ever.

A friend of mine got him in a couple fights, but he's a mage with the crystal spells. Was chopping the guy's HP in half each hit.

Might want to either get a faster weapon, or get lots of armor on if you wanna use Z. Gwyn attacks a lot quicker, so he'll likely nearly kill you just for trying to attack him once with that. Heck, just tossed on only the body armor of Havel's set and that alone made a big decrease in how much he hurt... Except his grab attack. That one still hurts like a bitch. Lowest I got him, I turtled up with Havel's shield and body armor while poking at him with the dragonslayer. His grab was the only thing that kept the fight from being mine in another two minutes.
