So the demo just came out yesterday and I'm impressed so far.
There are some changes that might annoy some people though, such as the missing top-down view (I miss it so much) and streamlined skill tree and combat.
Overall I like the much faster paced combat, especially with mages.

2 more weeks HURR HURR

Haha, if it`s half as good as Origins I`ll love it. I thought Dragon`s Age: Origins was fantastic

Pretty good. Gives a feel for it all, but still doesn't give a lot away. So much locked up....
Not entirely sure about it, but still a good game so far. Can't wait for release day.

You have no idea how excited I am about Dragon Age 2. Actually you have no idea how excited I am that Bioware is able to just crank out excellent games. They found a formula for awesome And apparently a formula for printing money.

What are you talking about that you cant zoom all the way out? From what I heard the camera view wouldnt be that much different than before, you can zoom out to how it was in DA:O and pause for commands and such.

You can zoom out, but you can't get a Diablo/RTS-ish view.
Pause is still there.

Friendly-fire for AoE attacks are gone though.

Yeah, I just played the first bit of the demo before going to work. Mages are still ridiculously OP. Frost Cone obliterates Hurlocks without any trouble at all.

Uh....
Try that first bit of the demo with any class. It's meant for you to be crazy OP, because that's him telling a story. Admittedly, that might be what high level play is like, but...

Yeah, the early part just the dwarf (without facial hair! OMG!) spouting BS.
Unless you're expecting the Champion to actually die while trying to escape Lothering.

No no, I knew about that, but I dont think they'd overexaggerate the damage that it does normally, especially since as the Mage your staff attack was doing very little to them. Took 5-6 hits to kill one normally. If those were the real damage numbers of the abilities and real stats of the Genlocks, he's still OP as hell. Again, that's not really news though considering Mages were the most powerful class in DA:O

Hurlocks. They took out Genlocks, it seems. Not sure I like all the art decisions either.

I used to mage it up in DA:O, but after the demo I don't really get the feel of UNLIMITED POWER as before (brokenness is gone) so I'll probably go rogue so I can just tap every button simultaneously.

Ya, my first character in DA:O was a rogue, it was fun stuff. My second character is a mage with combat magic.

Archery is pretty powerful now. High damage, and knock back effects.
Still trying to figure out my playthroughs. One male tank nice guy, I know that. I kinda liked a snarky joking female in the demo, but I can't decide rogue or mage.

OHYEAH can't believe I forgot to mention that everyone in this game DOESN'T look like total shit. Fucking DA:O, shittiest animations and modeling around.

Yeah, bugged me that the only characters in Origins that looked decent were just the party characters. Couldn't even have the PC look that good without carefully setting everything. And even then it still wasn't great. (Was thanful for all the headgear that enclosed on the cheeks.)

And yeah, mages are still the powerhouses. If you have tanks to distract the enemies. Got chased around the field by five Hurlocks and the Ogre when everyone else died... Actually, only time no one else dropped was when I played the two-handed warrior and took all the attention.

Just wondering if they got that one OP archer skill, Slaying Shot. (Or whatever it was.) Didn't check the ability tree too much with the rogue play.

Characters are actually kinda bugging me. Carver/Bethany are as bland as bread. Chick who loses her husband is kinda boring as well. Isabella is perhaps too much of a massive slut. Dwarf guy seems kinda cool, but good lord the chest hair.

Yeesssssss. Played rogue, which mostly due to the dodge ability seemed like one of the more dynamic, fun classes to play. I can barely wait till this game comes out. I really like many of the design changes. Yet, I have a bad feeling in my gut... Awakening was rushed and had lots of subtle problems, and I have a bad feeling this is too.

So you're gonna give it a chance?

If it goes on sale via Steam at like $5 at some point, and there's a mod to make the people look anime, sure, maybe.

We're not sure if they're updating the toolset, and $5 would be like 3 years.
But yeah, you might like it.

Though really, I somehow think DAO would be closer to your style. They've gone and made the game a bit more action-y...

There's always a mod to make them look anime.

AS UNFORTUNATE AS THAT IS.

It's a great way to get even further down the uncanny valley.
