So apparently you're fighting to stop the Reapers from obliterating civilization as you know it and then    they still obliterated civilization as you know it no matter what you do.
Ayupp.

Isn't the Citadel itself    a mass relay    though? I suppose if you chose the    control ending    it would have    survived    and hence    people can study it and build their own relays?

I just finished the game.
Was great. Great music, great ambiance. The whole thing had that bitter-sweet end of the world feeling. I think the ending was good as well.
I like what they did to combat as well. I play Vanguard, and the charge ability is just great. Seemed pretty useless in ME 2, but now... I was only using a pistol (great with scope 1-2 shot kills) and the fast power regen allowed me to almost constant charge, to keep up the shield. Charge-Melee-Charge-Melee-Aaaa... once or twice I cleaned a room this way, and I had to keep pushing or die.
I'm thinking about starting ME 1 again.... :D

And their 'master's reasoning for it is pretty much as contrary.

And while that is possible, that'd take time that only the krogans and asari have. By the time they're replaced    most aliens that were stranded in Sol would have likely died out    with there being a very limited amount of habitable worlds near there. And    without Shepard,    there wouldn't really be anyone so willing to present possible ways for everyone to coexist. If anyone actually even came up with ideas for it in the first place.

To be fair, besides the literal ending itself, it was a great buildup. And it's usually difficult to have satisfying endings to something so complex, not that they shouldn't have done better of course. I loved the climax, not so much the whole resolution. It was very satisfying until the actual ending happened and it became "What?".

Apparently there's some theories floating around that the ending is more than it seems. Not that I've watched that movie, spoilers, duh!

Also, is it really necessary to have ME2 installed to import your character?

No, you just need to create the proper path where you put the save game

Ah, the "indoctrination" theory.
I'll believe it when Bioware actually releases a patch/DLC to do it. Until then, the ending is still shit.
Also, I suggest you be careful with that editor lulz.
It's not too accurate, and I revived Wrex somehow while trying to save Kirrahe.

Also.
SPOILER
Why the ending sucks

Oh, quite. This was meant to wrap up the entire series, so they really tried to tug the heartstrings with moments throughout the game. Best one to me was everything surrounding Tali.

And the ideas to the ending were fine. But it seems like they just decided to neglect all the work thus far for a short and easy fix. (Evident by all the copy-paste editing there was in the 'endings'.) Deus Ex Machina, indeed. And the Indoctrination thing has some plausible points. Would be fantastic if that was the original intent. But... Yeah, I'm not holding my breath.

At least I know where to just stop the game for my Renegade's playthrough.

Here's a picture of Tali:

It's only available if you romance her it seems, and I had gone with Liara
No face tentacles unfortunately

Yep, she looks nice. Would've preferred they make an original pic instead of shopping a stock pic found online, but she still looks good.

Seeing her be flirty with my paragon, knowing how much more timid she used to be, it just felt...nice.

But why does she take so long to recruit, though?! I'm rushing through the story missions because I'm afraid I'll accidentally romance Ashley or Liara. Dammit, just because I'm a nice guy who value my friends doesn't mean I wanna bonk you!

I don't think it would be possible to romance a second character while you're still involved with another character.
Should be able to go for other party members when you dump your current partner though.

Banshees are so HAX QWE WER @# R#F T@#C#E@#QER
I would run away from the banshee, and lose control of my character and he/she decides to turn back and walk into the banshee's insta-kill grapple melee.

The fact that sprinting and taking cover fall under the same button can be very frustrating

Waitwaitwaitwait. Is Tali a temporary party member? Everyone keeps talking about her responsebilities to her people and how she'll have to get back to them afterwards.

She can become part of the crew again depending on the choices you make during those missions.

I must say, the game is really successful in wrapping up the trilogy, both in terms of the size of the explosions and the conclusion of the character arcs.

Everything about Thane is manly tears.

Everything about Tali is love.

Etc.

Thane was done really well. I didn't see any of Tali's flirting as I took the first shot with Liara, but if you romance neither Garrus or Tali and you walk in on them near the end of the game, you see them together.

Yeah, Jacob goes for the doctor he was protecting.
Who else? Hmm......
I could see Liara going for Feron but nothing suggests it...
