Was there any ever doubt? Of course there's going to be a fifth installment, especially after the fourth's popularity and critical acclaim. It's a moneymaker.

They did take their sweet time, though; FO3 be damned.

I'm certainly looking forward to it, though. I can't bring myself to play TES4:O as I've already completed all of its achievements. That would be too much fun.

THIS

HOLY CRAP
"Suddenly Frodo noticed that a strange-looking weather-beaten man, sitting in the shadows near the wall, was also listening intently to the hobbit-talk. He had a tall tankard in front of him, and was smoking a long-stemmed pipe curiously carved. His legs were stretched out before him, showing high boots of supple leather that fitted him well, but had seen much wear and were now caked with mud. A travel-stained cloak of heavy dark-green cloth was drawn close about him, and in spite of the heat of the room he wore a hood that overshadowed his face; but the gleam of his eyes could be seen as he watched the hobbits."

If you're referring to me I don't know where you got that from. I don't like Obsidian, who made Fallout New Vegas, if that's what you're referring to.

And the same setting thing isn't confirmed, but even if it is I'm just glad that actual articles about TESV are being made. It doesn't necessarily mean that a release date is anywhere near, but it sure does mean that an official announcement may be underway.

I really hope the speculations of fans for a 2012-2013 release aren't true but they will be if the rumors that they completely made a new engine are true.

Oh and Wizard, I think the only achievements I never got were the ones from the magic guild. But yeah, that game probably had the perfect way of giving achievements. It wasn't by doing an incredible feat, but by doing pretty much everything the game had to offer. Brilliant game.

Of course I'm not surprised the Wiz got the magic guild achievements.

Oh yea, you talked about Obsidian, nvm then.

Still, they have talked about ES: V for quite a while now.
My guess on why they haven't gotten serious about it is because of Fallout's great money hit.

All that came out before was that TES WOULD happen but they weren't currently working on it [when Fallout 3 was all over the media]

this is the first post-fallout 3 news I have actually seen.

It was so easy to run through and get all the achievements that I didn't bother to actually play the game.

It was too easy.

1500/1500, baby; and I didn't absorb any of it...

You didn't bother enjoying the game? That sucks man. I'm not an achievement whore at all. I got the 30,000+ by literally playing games to the point I would have even if achievements weren't there.

Only games I turn into a whore is in the Halo Series, but even with Reach I didn't bother to get a lot of the achievements.

yyyyeeeesssss now lets hope they'll support modding just as well as they did with Oblivion... I clocked so many hours on that game thanks to mods

MORE DARK BROTHERHOOD KPLSTHX!

fun fact:
That VATs system Fallout 3 had? they already made a mod for that during Oblivion years before Fallout 3 ;)

EDIT:
...would not be using id Software's Rage engine, id Tech 5. Instead, Bethesda has created an entirely new game engine.

Jesus be praised!

They better be, many have been expecting this. Fallout might be a great game, but ES still has its uniqueness which needs to be continued.

Yeah Fallout was awesome. But exploring dungeons and cave to get fireshooting swords will always be better than exploring a burnt library to find a weapon used by a president

Yeah. Melee weapons were so fucking pointless in Fallout 3.

Yeah that was pretty much the only melee that was worthwhile.

once you got the second gen version. the first gen was breaking every 5 seconds.

it's a lot better in new vegas since you don't have super mutants everywhere

new vegas is inferior to fallout 3 though even if it did improve on issues off FO3. Nothing much specifically bad about it but it was just inferior in general.

I made a knife that had a 999x crit damage... it really made a backstab an instakill, loved in in conjunction with the Chinese Stealth Suit
it didnt do a lot of damage if used in a regular fight (hence the high crit damage), so it always made me sneak around :3
