Dead Rising 2 - It's like Dead Rising... only better!

Postby Asmodai » Sun Sep 26, 2010 2:41 pm

For anybody who played the first DR, YOU CAN NOW MOVE AND SHOOT AT THE SAME TIME!
That alone makes this game 18956328576287561957x better then the first one

But now you also have the hilarious combo system, where you combine the most household items into deadly weapons (personally boxing gloves + Bowie Knife is my favorite)
But really, let your mind go crazy and try stuff

And there are more save points located throughout Fortune City

Boss fights are still the most nerve wrecking thing you'll ever encounter in any game, but at least they're not as retardedly difficult as in the previous DR. But they're all pretty memorable (you'll get a good laugh at the "wedding" boss)

And more zombies! Much MUCH more zombies

or rent it like me. I love Dead Rising, but usually I can't play it for more than a week before getting bored.

I'm actually more excited for the Dead Rising 2: Case West, or whatever it's called since that pretty much confirmed that Frank wasn't gonna have a cameo for Dead Rising 2, but would be in a future game [most likely Dead Rising 3 as long as they don't kill him off in Case West, which is doubtful]

I can't wait for co-op with Frankie :D

I've noticed that equipping your 'survivor party' with Assault Rifles makes boss fights extremely easy... pistols also work pretty well

Flashlight = gems = lightsaber.... win

gamefly just shipped my dead rising 2. I should be playing it by either today [if the mail gets it here today by some wild chance in hell] or tomorrow.

DR 2 is fun, I made my guy look like Charlie Sheen. But seriously I've got to hand it to Blue Castle games they sure did keep the feel of the game (A western take on horror through a japanese filter.) And for that I commend them for doing a good job. Unlike most third party developers, (i'm looking at you Bioshock 2.)

? Bioshock 2 had better gameplay than the first, easier puzzles, and while the story wasn't the greatest it was by no means bad. It was just that the main hook of the first story was the exploration of Rapture. Haters gonna hate.

yeah I thought the gameplay of Bioshock 2 was better than that of the first... it was the rather mediocre story that killed the mood for me

Sounds a hell of a lot fun. Does it require a wild beast of a computer to run, or will I be able to play it on my tame rabbit?

I think it should run on a farly bog standard computer, there is nothing special about the graphics but it dose have the abiliti the have over 8,000 zombies on screen at once (apparently) with out buggering the frame rate. But I don't think that will make much of an impact.

yeah you dont really require a monster of a PC... but it does help when all those zombies show up (I swear to god, they're multiplying)

I'm a 360 dead rising 2 player. And the only capcom series that has ever been truly praised about its graphics was the lost planet series.

Really I thought RE5 had really good graphics my self.

Anyway guys there is an awesome weapon called the Super "BFG". You have to combo a Blast frequency gun with an amplifier.

Oh you get it later on, I make people throw up and if you shoot dead people with it they come back to life........... then throw up and die again. Don't do much to zombies though.

I just beat the first day of Dead Rising 2. Do they have a game mode where I can hang around the city and just screw around? Because time limits piss me off.

No sadly unlike Dead Rising 1 which had an infinite mode once you completed the game and overtime mode, DR 2 only has overtime mode. They might put it as DLC. The co-op was a nice touch though I've just helped my friend finish it and it was really fun. It's good to see a game with a co-op feature but dosen't rely on it to carry the game.

The time limit on DR2 seems to go much quicker than the one on DR1 but that might just be me.

Man, I just started, and I already want an endless mode. Such a fun game, so many weapons to test out.

dont think there is a endless mode... perhaps the OVERTIME part... but I think there's still a time limit to that
That, and you really dont want to get stuck in the OVERTIME part, it's brutal

I said I want one, I know there is none. Would be nice, considering all the weapons and combos that are available. Gotta test them all!
