Well you cant see what they look like, but you do get the preview on the stats on the side menu. Actually if you just search the web, I'm sure you'll find what they look like, as most models are based off their old ones from past FM games.

I'm upset that you got it for Steam though =/ I need some 360 people to play with. Maybe I'll buy it for Steam too at a later date, just because the 360 community may not be as big at the PCs by the end.

Ahh, yeah you should actually get it then. Feeds that craving for online mech battles quite a bit. The last good one I played was Chromehounds and how I miss that game. Wish they would release another one. I do like that it's just slightly more fast paced than Chromehounds though. If you do get the actual game, then get it for 360 if you have one so we can team up.

For a port the controls are quite decent.

Dedicated melee is dangerous though.

From what I've seen online, alot of people are going light mechs with AGILITY backpacks for circle-strafing around people, as you cant skate left or right without the pack. From there it's a mix of double melee/shield+missiles or heavy guns/melee+missiles. I'm personally thinking I'll build up for a hardcore close-range setup with double shotguns+rockets. Rockets dont have the auto-targeting, but they do a high amount of splash damage.

Yeah, heavy mechs are pointless, even in SP.
Never really used rockets, though.
From what I've heard MP is kinda fucked for the PC right now.
