Well the open beta came out yesterday, has anyone signed up for it or been accepted because I've certainly signed up.

Am mildly interested due to the fact that consoles are supposed to see a release of this. On the other hand, it's an MMO, which means it's likely to come with a monthly fee. Most MMOs don't follow the Guild Wars subscription model of pay once, play forever. If this has some amazing gameplay, then I might consider it. Otherwise, meh.

If it's better than Champions Online or City of Heroes/Villains, then this is worth looking into.

From what I've read, seen or heard it's much better. You get the opprutunity to follow a hero/villains style of costume and gain epic level versions of their outfits, plus you can mix and match to suit your character needs. The pvp is instance based, the quests can work on both sides as a villain you can rob banks but also attract the attention of heroes to stop you. Plus others things rumoured yet not yet released.

I was really sold on this game until I discovered that it was going to be $15/month and it wasn't going to have dedicated servers.

You might need a playstation plus account to play it. So I guess that's still considered p2p.

No, you don't need a ps+ account and P2P is a different type of connection like they use on console fps games instead of the traditional dedicated server system of MMO's and PC Shooters.

Ok this game is really hotting up right now, the character creator puts both Champions and COH/COV to shame in both graphics and customisation options. The epic suits look....epic and frankly I'd buy this even if the supposed 15 per month is in place because hell it looks... sweeeeeeeeet!

I don't know COH/COV was pretty innovative. If the games weren't so boring I would still be playing them.

He meant P2P as in PAY 2 PLAY.

Beta is good cept my PS3 is half dead from the 7 hours of program setup, I've beaten Faust, Bane, Queen Bee and a Trigon posessed Raven. Can't wait to tackle bigger names e.g Killer Croc.

I saw my friends play yesterday. We made a really gay furry tiger with really gay pink revealing clothing, pink wings and a staff. He was called Fabulous Tiger. Too bad the people in the beta had no sense of humor as we followed around like 20 people saying "RAWWWWR!" and no one paid attention.

what fags.

I played the beta and I'm sad that it is a subscription based game because it could draw in a lot of players who aren't big on most mmos.

oh dude definitely. The real time combat, that doesn't involve pressing 1 and seeing the character fight by himself ala wow really drew me in. I was considering a ps3 for it.

then I remembered it's an mmo.

Got it on launch day. Brave New World server.

Despite all the lagging because of my laptop barely running this I rather do enjoy it whenever it is running smoothly.

I have the game, playing it off and on when I have the time (job takes priorities). It's a lot of fun and really the only gripe I have so far is the targeting system. Playing as a Hero currently with Dual Pistol/Ice power spec with Superman as a mentor. The good stuff doesnt really start until lvl 10, but I'm not quite there yet.

Nearly hitting level 30 will give info on raids, duos etc. plus I will keep you posted on updates/patches. The main next update will add the auction house plus improve on chat/tabs for both PC and PS3, no actual content addons have been announced.

So, now that the game is F2P, and allows permanent Premium status by spending anything more than $5, anybody else playing it?
