The first Portal was a fun little puzzle game. It looks like Valve is taking the sequel a lot more seriously.

I already dont like it :|

and is it me, or does the voice of GlaDos miss it's usual cheerfulness?

Well you DID break her heart in the new game. Plus the trailer was supposed to be as badass as possible.

And who's saying they took that away? Just because the trailer isn't showcasing the humor doesn't mean it's removed. Valve is known for its humor anyways, trust me when I tell you it will still have it. And they added sick co-op elements, not to mention an actual story with depth.

personally I didnt think the first Portal had a very deep storyline, just you, a crazy computer and a gun that makes portals.

It's the subtle things, man, not convoluted plotlines.

Still anyone who enjoyed the first Portal and is not excited about this new one is a goddamn HATER. Like seriously, you didn't like the tone of the trailer and that's already predisposed you to thinking the sequel is gonna be bad? GOD, YOU MEMBRANE-SKINNED BABIES.

I think people are just too preoccupied with idea that sequels never do as well as the originals

Oh it had depth, maybe I should rephrase it

"a story with MORE depth than the original"

Likewise L4D2 and HL2 from Valve too. They're actually better with their sequels over their originals.

but see, by keeping my hopes down, it will only taste sweeter if it's actually any good

it wont be though, because it's no longer new and fresh... no matter how many new type of puzzles or story they put in

Who cares if it's not new or fresh? It's got freaking GLADOS' witty banter. You cant actually go wrong with that, you know.

okay just saw 2 minutes of gameplay, and the first thing I noticed was how extremely fast paced the new puzzles are... like really, really fast
interesting new stuff though, lots of jumping platforms

still didnt like GlaDos' voice. it's the mean version, you know the one after you destroy the inhibitor

Not nearly as cute as the companion cube. I saw him the portal 2 trailer so hopefully it wasn't an easter egg and the CC will appear in the game.

First I saw the arial plates and thought it couldn't get more awesome.
And then came the robots headbutting each other into the pit of doom.

I love Valve so much now.
