Tager vs. Nu's a ridiculously tough match. Sledge is definitely necessary for closing distances (work on your timing against her swords).

Otherwise... it's just a really rough match up. But she's pretty much slop if you can actually get some throws on her. The tough part is that it's mad hard to get close enough to do so.

I believe that at this point we should post our PSNs for great justice.

I'd say mine, but I play Blazblue on the 360.
I have played it on the PS3, but I prefer the 360.
Either way, it's ZhaneX on everything. Here, Xbox Live, PSN, everywhere.

PSN: kainwolfe.

My W/L ratio is shit right now. I haven't played in about two weeks and I can't even beat Hell mode in one go now. I managed to do it after playing for about 2 days at the arcade though.

Playing against CPU regardless of difficulty is a waste of time. You'll only get better at playing people by playing people.

PSN: TransistorGlamor

I won't be able to go too often now, cause I'll be away from home most of the week.

Sledge is essential for closing with Tager. Use magnetism as much as possible, but don't spam his down D too much, since a jump-friendly jin might avoid it. Magnetized Atomic Collider may screw him up if he leaves the ground, though he may hit you while being dragged through the air. it can keep him from staying away from you though.

No, I'm talking about general skill. If you can't at least beat Hell, you probably can't handle a player online.

Started playing again. Been working on my Bang skills. He's my main; the other characters I play are Haku-Men, Noel, and Jin. I want to be good with Rachel and Taokaka but it's not easy.

I fought my first Carl online yesterday. His infinite ping pong was annoying, and I could only break out if he tried to throw me. In the end, he won.

Bang's an awesome character. His combos flow naturally for me and his pressure strength is excellent. In general, I've always liked characters who beat opponents through putting pressure on them and making them guess what you're going to do next. (hopefully guessing wrong.) Of course, I really enjoy trapping enemies in the corner with him and Haku-men. I still have a lot of trouble doing his A, down A, B, down B, down C, down D combo, or the combos where he resets with his Tiger Knee's C cobweb nail.

(To Tiger Knee, start an aerial qcf nail shuriken attack on the ground, but end at diagonal up forward. This should cause you to use the aerial move at the minimum height above the ground before dropping again. You should be able to do this with Jin or Noel's aerial moves as well.)

Online is rife with rank inflation. The average lvl 20-30 these days sucks, and some of the lvl 50s are easy to beat as well. I went from lvl 15 to lvl 27 in one night.

A good part of taokaka is a bit of mindgames, especially "D" moves. For example, they might expect you to go straight at them, so instead you can jump then do a back "D", or just do back "D", as they may drop a guard if they see you moving back, then you use the stun for comboes like 6B + 236B (repeatable) then grab or 236C. Use crawl, very very useful. You can fake out opponents while using a "D" move by using A (stops right there), B (moves right behind them instead of hitting), or C (stops there and starts slashing). Usually you should use this if they like to block alot. Learn to love the 214214C, because its very very useful. If you manage to get them near the edge, spam 236C (repeat by pushing C), and you can get a few slashes in before they either jump out or barrier break. Be wary of Ragnas. That is all I can think of right now.

P.S. "I am the protector of justice and the innocent!" vs. "I am the just sword. I am the cold steel."

In my attempts to crush every last Jin I faced, I added hakumen to the people that I use. Anyone have any tips?

I'm assuming everyone who's posting in here would recommend Blazblue to me?

I saw it at the store and spent 15 minutes wondering if it was worth 60 bucks to buy. is it?

Depends. If you really like 2D fighter games, it's definitely worth at least a look. It's akin to Guilty Gear, but still it's own game. If you can find the Collector's Edition of BB, buy it. It's the same price as a regular copy of the game, but it comes with the sweet soundtrack of BB and a little bonus strategy/tip disc. A few of the creators give you tips on how to play to the strengths of each character. Though you can actually find the videos on Youtube, at least you can get a two-disc soundtrack. Well, you can hear the soundtrack on Youtube as well, but... Eh, oh well, you get physical copies of it so if you internet ever fails on you and you really need to listen to the soundtrack, you don't have to cry.

I like 2D fighters, but I'm no good at them. So I usually don't buy them. The most recent thing I've bought was Marvel VS. Capcom 2.

Well, if you're no good at most 2D fighters, it's OK. I'm pretty crappy at fighters. This game is pretty easy to learn, hard to master. I suggest at least playing each character once to get a feel for them. Then pick out the one you are most comfortable with. I have tried playing every character, and I can only play Jin properly. I'm not good with anyone else. But I guess it's because I've played him 97% of the time. The other 3% is split between Tao, Noel and Litchi.

I've found Jin is a pretty easy character to play, but I also don't think any other people in Blazblue are in MvC 2. I can combo the hell out of most people, then throw in a finisher, but if they can break the one combo I'm bound to lose because my momentum is gone.

For me, it appears as though I'm good with certain characters at certain days, and do poorly with others, and then the next day it could be switched.

And god damn it thunder why do you get to do the 360 + A or B move...

double-posting time!
I found a picture where it says, "The seal of fate is now broken. Its now up to you."

I'm pretty sure its story mode, but how do I get it?

beat all the stories once, you'll get nu and hakumen's story, then you'll get the true end, where rachael will be all.

Surprised that this hasn't been discussed yet. In terms of actual news, it's old.

Blazblue: Continuum Shift is coming out. New characters are Tsubaki and Hazama, non-playable characters in the previous game. Here's a detailed list of new changes to the game.
