Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 - Frozen Crossing

Postby Asmodai » Sun Mar 29, 2009 12:06 pm

So it appears Infinity Ward decided to drop the Call of Duty name-tag for the new MW. Could this mean the end of Call of Duty?

Lets hope so, shall we?

Maybe. But they're probably going to continue making sequels.

IW is making MW2. I believe Treyarch is going to take over the WW2 era games, if they don't just retire from WW2.

They should try and make a more Battlefield-esque game... you know, bigger maps, (balanced) vehicles, point capture...
I can imagine it becoming quite a hit

Then again, that does kinda defeat the whole idea of CoD

Battlefield sucks. CoD doesn't. Moving on.

I read a very interesting article on Kotaku about people combing through the MW2 trailer for clues. Major finds include references to Russians (a durr...), the Christ the Redeemer statue in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and the resurface of that friggin' teddy bear from WaW, along with tanks, helicopters, and planes.

That being said, I don't know if I'm looking forward to another game centered around modern combat. I might rent it for the story mode, but honestly, I'm extremely content with CoD4.

QTF + how many times can we win WWII. I am getting a little bored with U.S.-centric war games.

I hope that MW2 features more European missions, with a new set of weapons, but I really don't see how much they can improve on CoD4, unless they rework the movement/cover system.

Agreed, WWII has been played to death.

I would like to see more missions spread around the world, broaden the site seeing.

Im tired of the barren wastes/dirt brown cities of the middle east and near-forgotten areas of the former soviet union... or just near-uninhabitable areas in general

I want action on planes, in New York, LA, Vegas, Shanghai, Amsterdam - Ya know - urban types - less brown - more grey with colorful lights

Might be.
But I doubt if you're playing special forces a lot.

Nah, it's more that Activision owns the rights to CoD and IW doesn't want to do CoD games anymore.

The full trailer is now out and it looks like things are going to be pretty awesome I'd say.

Still a huge maybe for me. Always hated the shoot and insta kill feature of CoD.

So long as you use cover, you don't need shields. Still, I guess it's not for everyone. *shrug*
