Anyone has heard of the "Red Ring of Death"? Happened to me that same morning (when they released Halo 3). Man, I felt like the unluckiest guy in the world, thank God I got a new XBox 360 and my Legendary Edition. But seriously, hate that fucking Ring.

Mircosoft should be able to replace your old one, they've upped their warrenties to 3 years. Having an Elite is the way to go they, they've got the new heat-sink installed so over heating and the Rings of Death shouldn't be a problem. But yeah, that timing sucks.

this isn't the most massive spoiler. I HOPE that by now you've followed the advice, and at the very least waited to the end of the credits. If you've beaten the game on legendary (every level) , then this question/topic is for you.

[spoiler]The ship master chief's in is looming over a dark planet with obvious signs of life, most prominently the bright, patterned lights on the surface. If you've read Ghosts of Onyz then you probably have a good idea of where it could be, (onyx). I really just wanted to get this out there to start some conversation on where else that blackish planet could be.[/spoiler]

That's only a spoiler if you don't want to beat the whole game on legendary just for a short snippet. Also, if you haven't stayed to watch through the credits then it gives away part of what happens.

[spoiler]There's a possibility that it could be Onyx, but just because the light gleamed off the planet doesn't mean it is Onyx. Light does that with regular plants anyway. They would probably die on entry into the atmosphere anyhow.[/spoiler]

If it's Onyx there's a good chance for a spinoff game simply because they'd have a HUGE number of sentinels to fight against, and not only are they normal sized, but they can morph together together to form other opponents.

There's also the 2nd and 3rd generation spartans inside the sanctum, whatever it's called.

But I really doubt they'd make such a game. There wouldn't be enough substance to the story, and even then they'd have to do a whole lot to bring in enough variance in opponents.


Blast it, I'm rambling. Really, I'm just speculating what they're gonna do with it.


Sorry, one more thing that occurred to me while I was about to post this: The planet looks ominously similar to High Charity's surface. The pattern on it, is what I mean. I think it's almost definitely forerunner or Covenant...
