Can has Quake Wars?

Postby InsideTheAsylum » Fri Sep 14, 2007 4:06 pm

I've been waiting for this game for a good year and a half now since I got bored to death of playing Battlefield 2... but it kept getting delayed, yadda yadda... but now there's a definite release date! October 2nd in North America and September 28th everywhere else. The demo is also out, download it here.

I've been playing the beta for a while and now the demo and I can tell you that it's pure awesome. It's the old Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory formula with team-based objectives that need to be completed mixed with vehicles like from BF2 (although I hate to make this comparison). Purely awesome, truly the competitive player's game.

I was never really a huge fan of Quake, and I downloaded only because the existence on this thread. Loved the spawning system, though.

Radio communication. The "Thank you" and stuff. Sounds affectionate.

I liked the demo... play as spec ops, and kept bombarding the enemy spawn point ^_^

Spec Ops FTW!

NOT playing it.
Been saving money for my copy of CE Bioshock and wobbly head Kane(which is 2x the price because of shipping, by the way). And still waiting for Assassin's Creed.
So, NO.

Enjoy your kick.
Yes, you'll get kicked quite frequently if you actually do that in multiplayer games.
Spawn camping, that is.

If you do that in multiplayer, I would most certainly fuck you up real nicely

Spec ops? You mean field ops (the air strike/artillery, etc?). That's the only class that does "bombarding." Um, good luck spawn camping that way, I guess. The bases that aren't meant to be camped have the artillery interceptor turrets that'll shoot down all incoming missiles. The bases that you can camp are usually bases that can be lost and so camping is just part of the strategy ;p

havnt been kicked once, nobody has even complained about it yet!
And its their own damn fault if they dont put those anti arty interceptors down, and then get blasted to oblivion :P

But I also like to play as a sniper, take someones identity and get a few knife kills ^_^
