You know, in this world with intense gaming with intense stories, sometimes you just want the intense gaming without the intense reasons or even variety of different games. And these are guility pleasures. They are games like Crimsonland, where you just see how long you can stay alive blasting aliens, mix-matchings perks and bonuses with which to do battle along with pyschoticly powerful weapons.

Tryian is the earliest possible example. It went above and beyond any other of those flying upwards blasting everything games. It added a slew of management that made it far more intense WHILE as well, forgiving on some degrees. Making it challenging, not frustatring.

Right now I'm blasting out with Jets'n'Guns, almost in the same vein completely as Tyrian. Inreverent humor, hilariously super powerful guns, awesome ships, and such.

So kiddies, you got any of those kind of games?

Anything Star Wars. I don't like the movies or novels and shit but I love so many of their games. The Jedi Academy series rocked hard, and KotoR2 was alright. Not much story for it though.

Hmmm...Probably the DBZ and Naurto games.

Budokai 3 is amazing and the Narutimate Hero games are awesome.

Shadow of the Colossus, very little storyline and just a bunch of boss battles. For those people who love bosses but hate having to get to them.

Full agreement on that one. I used to be so good I could take SS4 Gogeta (I think) with Piccolo without being hurt. Funny thing is I didn't even own the game.

Fun games with no story and tons of shooting? Painkiller. And it has awesome atmosphere.

I was sort of assuming the concept of a 'guilty pleasure' was it's supposed to be a game you might be a bit ashamed to admit liking, but do anyways.

Can't really think of any right now, but I'm sure a couple exist.

That's what I figured. Hence, I make fun of all things Star Wars so it's a guilty pleasure for me to like the games.

Sonic Adventure 2 Battle.
After they killed the Sonic series with "Eggman" and "Shadow", the whole thing just seemed to...crash. I only played it for the sheer enjoyment of raising a Chao.
God bless your soul Tiny XD

Sometimes I break Morrowwind and just go around killing everything. Sometimes I kill them slowly and sometimes I unleash a modded spell which takes out entire towns with just one cast... Needless to say Morrowwind is a very buggy game, especially when you're one shotting things.

I consider Raptor superior to Tyrian, though it may just be because of nostalgia. There was just something special about that game to me.

Megaman games are very much a guilty pleasure of mine. I mean, look at them! The gameplay has barely evolved the past 10 years. Capcom whore out their fans for money by releasing a new game (or 2) every year. But still I love it. I've loved megaman since I played Megaman X back on the snes and have played every single one I could get my hands on since then.

I feel Sooo guilty playing WOW after so many years of mocking how stupid it look's. But since it was becoming so popular with the new expansion pack comming out, I thought I'd try the free trial for a laugh

3 day's later, I'm at Gamestop buying the full version.

I suppose SSBM can be a guilty pleasure in certain circumstances. I usually go fairly easy on opponents unless we are somewhat evenly matched, but I do enjoy laying into my brother's friends when I get the chance. They play much more than I do, but even when they are teamed against me, I achieve KO ratios of 5:1 or more. It's great fun, somewhat reminiscent of the Burly Brawl.

My Falco once comboed(sp?) Dave's Game&Watch so hardcore than he vowed never to play Smash Bros. Melee again. He hasn't, to my knowledge, played since.
A happy story with a horribly devastating ending...

Well considering it's been named Best Game of the Year by most tp site's and brodcast show's, yeah, I'm confident it's not.
