Games we regret buying

Postby Teran » Sun Aug 12, 2007 5:32 pm

That's right fellas, how many times have we expected so much from a game, and at the end it disappoints us. There are many games we regret having, and well, I thought, why not to make a thread? Could help some people not to buy bad games, or at least we could give our opinions about really bad games.
Right now I'm not really sure which ones to mention, since I've bought many games in my life, but these one's are the recent one:

Sonic the Hedgehog (XBox 360, PS3): Horrible gameplay, hundreds of glitches, bad design, you feel the game is pretty rushed, and loads that take forever. Had a lot of expectations for this game, and it ended being the worst game I've bought in this year. I really regret buying this game.

Donkey Konga 2 (Gamecube): Although the first "Donkey Konga" was a huge success, I felt this one was just an easy way to make a sequel. Not the worst game I've bought, but I think I wasted my money buying this game.

Hmmm, can't remember other games. Anyways, keep writing and stuff like that.
Disclaimer: If you don't agree with my opinion, I'm not a comic reviewer or a writer, I'm just an asshole. Also, I'm probably drunk right now.

The Urbz(Xbox360, PS2, GC)~Commercial made it sound freakin' awesome, it wasn't.

Shadow the Hedgehog(Xbox360, PS2, GC)
~ Thought it would be just like Sonic, it wasn't even close to as good.

Harvest Moon(GC)~Farming isn't fun in a video game.

One game I'll always regret buying in Mario is Missing for the SNES. It was just horrible. There is absolutely no action and it took entirely way too long to complete. Why oh why did I waste my money on it!

Hey You Pikachu! (N64): The game looked so promising, and at the end, I regreted buying such game. Seriously, Pikachu barely obeyed me, and I found the game really hard. Hated it at the end.

Not true, Halo and Metroid Prime are very good FPS's and they're not on the PC.

I really liked Hey You Pikachu, it was really fun.

There is only 1 game I have ever regretted buying:

Super Paper Mario (Wii) WORST, GAME, EVER!!

I have heard of Bad Sequels before, but This Was Ridiculous!

1. It's NOT An RPG!! I Don't Care What Anyone Says, It A FREAKING Sidescroller!!

2. It Just Insults The ENTIRE Series, And Everything That May Have Even Slightly Related To It!

3. IT MAKES ME WANNA TYPE LIKE THIS!!!!

You are offically retarded.

1: Um, it was said to be "Sidescroller with RPG elements added to it"

2: WHY?

3: You are just tarded if you do that.

Although I haven't played Super Paper Mario, they review it like a good game. I'll probably buy it when I get my Nintendo Wii.

DON'T GODDAMMIT!!

*tries to calm down*

...huh, fine, let me try and be a little more constructive here.

To start off, there's absolutely Nothing new about the game from any of it's predecessors (Pixel's, or MSN icon's). The entire game plays out like it's from a computer instead of the Storybook esque feel it gave from it's last 2 games. The control's are just awful, because it's, I repeat, NOT an an RPG. It may give the illusion by stuffing the Paper title on the front, but all it is is going from right to left (sidescroller).

Going from 2D-3D is not innovative nor new in anyway. It's honestly (and i can't believe I'm saying this) just a gimmick. Everything that may give this game the idea of being any form of RPG vision is just an illusion.

It's just insulting to think that such an awful sequel came from one of my Greatest games I've ever known. This is nothing more than, "Super Mario, The Paper Addition".

Prince of Persia: Warrior Within
Final Fantasy X-2

I try and choose my games carefully so that I don't end up with crap I hate, but one or two slips in there from time to time.

I thought it was fun... until that day... I was missing one card, and I lost all of my good cards trying to get it. I was doomed...

I haven't bought a game since... Since 1997. But there are games I did regret getting since then...

Prince of Persia - Arabian Nights (DC) - Pretty much like the old ones, but on 3D.
Crazy Taxi, all of them (DC, PC and X-Box) - It's fun for a while, but has no challenge on it...

Glover (N64): Man, one of the most horrible games I've ever played. It was about a magician who mixed wrongly his potions, turned himself into a stone, one of his two Gloves became evil, and the other one is meant to save the world. Regret so much that Christmas present...

I've played some games I regret playing, but I usually know enough about a particular game before I buy it to not pick up a bad game. Unless Mario Galaxies, Geometry Wars, or Smash Bros. Brawl sucks, this trend shall continue to endeavor.
(BTW, none of those games will suck)

Elder scrolls 3 (Pc): First of all, the graphics were horrible. I expected them to be at least halfway decent, since it's predeccesor was so good. I just hated the graphics. Another thing was the combat. I thought it was quite clunky, and fairly annoying to sit there, clicking your mouse as fast as you can, to kill a small rat. It was also annoying to just have to walk such a long distance and time to really get anywhere. If it hadn't been for those few essential things, it might have made an excellent game in my opinon. But, it just didn't work out for me.

NEXT-GEN.

IT IS NOT A RPG. IT IS A SIDESCROLLER! SHUT UP ABOUT IT NOT BEING AN RPG WHEN ITS NEVER CLAIMED TO BE.

Also, ES3 graphics and control scheme is only clunky compared to Oblivion, ES4. Other then that it's a fairly good game.

Actually, it IS categorized as an RPG, just like the first one was.
