The comic book explanation is that Superman gets his power from the yellow Sun, Krypton had a red star as it's sun, so its people had no superpowers. Also none of them escaped Krypton because depending on countless revisions to the origin story 1) No one believed it'd explode except Jor-El (Superman's father) 2 The vessel that brought Superman to Earth was a prototype built by Jor-El and the only one of its kind. 3) Kryptonians were "decadent and didn't want to do crap. 4) All of the above.
I'm not saying this makes super awesome sense, just giving you the official explanation.
The death battle videos are an absolute joke. In the Goku vs Superman video, they bother to make Son Goku go Super Saiyan 4 and use Dragon Fist (towards the end), but no mention is made that the Dragon Fist takes its power from the Dragon Balls, thus is magical, thus Superman is vulnerable to it. No mention is made that Goku can teleport to other planets and that he can see an opponents potential, so he'd likely teleport the battle to some other place once he saw Superman wanting to destroy Earth (which is out of character for Supes, too). I'm not saying Supes should lose, just that the video makers avoid stuff that's inconvenient.
Those guys just come-up with battles that are sure to excite 13 year old boys and adults who are 13 year old boys in spirit (Randori) and go with the result they figure will give them the most subscribers/buzz. Best proof is Rainbow Dash vs Starscream. MLP features barely any fighting, so there's very little to base it on, but they went with a character who gets seriously hurt when hitting rocks or buildings defeating an opponent made out of solid metal.
But it's fine that they do it, I'm sure they get decent money from it and I applaud their idea to get wealthier easily. And crossover fights are always a joke, like Wolverine defeating Lobo in an official comic, cause that's what people voted on.
That's why when I saw the thread title say "Fan-made VG Battles" I expected funny, maybe sometimes creative videos and match-ups, not "scientific" who-would-wins . And since I don't search for such stuff, I thought I'd get links to videos I wouldn't find on my own and that'd entertain me. Instead I see youtube comments level "OMG SUPERMAN is cheap!!!!1". Come on Snafu, you are better than this, or at least you should be.
