Yo guys, I began the microsoft training to be a X-Box tech support agent today

For now, it's a pain in the ass. Interesting, but a pain in the ass anyway.

Did you know... that Microsoft loses $130 per each 360 sold? I sure as hell didn't!

Any console, and since they were first made, has made companies lose money. So yeah, as Kaj said, games + accessories = where the profit comes from.

Every game costs $0.50 They sell them for (average) $50. That's %10000 of benefits per game (without the developing costs, of course)
Each wireless controler? $7 Price on stores? 10 times that amount.

Yeah. The amount of profits companies reap on some things is pretty insane. All be it, some of the profit has to go into new ventures and R&D, but most of it just stockpiles if they are successful.

They scrapped the xbox quickly to never be seen again because it wasnt designed to be cost-efficient like the 360.
