Wii Friend Codes

Postby Troggles » Sun Nov 19, 2006 8:48 pm

Well, since the Wii is out now I thought I'd go ahead and start tossing my friend code around. I've already got a couple of other people's Miis from this, and it's fun to watch them walk around my screen.

Also, here's to hoping you need one Friend Code per CONSOLE, not per GAME this time.

EDIT: Hrm... your friend code doesn't seem to be working, Troggs.

In a repeat of the hell I had to go through to get my xbox 360 to connect to the internet I can't seem to connect my Wii to the internet. I'll figure something out eventually but DAMN this is annoying.

Wanna give up your friend code for when you do? I think you can do that without connecting to the 'net, though I could be wrong.

Fuck Dave.

lengeta's (room-mate's) "Mexwii" Wii code:
4417 8322 6465 8751

Just so everyone knows, the Wii code is a console thing and not a per-game thing. Currently, it's to send messages, basically e-mails, to other Wiis. I'm not sure if it will be required to play games online.

Wii-Sports is not online capable, and downloaded games will work exactly like their original version, meaning no online for them either.

Two updates out of the box? Weird.

Ammending a friend to your Wii address-list isn't instant. You've both got to add each other first, and it will still be awhile before your able to send messages to one another.

The vast majority of Wii games are not compatible with GameCube controllers. If they are, the Cube's controller will appear on the back of the game's case. You'll need four Wii-motes to play Marvel: Ultimate Alliance.

News Channel: coming Jan 27
Forcast Channel: coming Dec 20
Internet Channel (Opera browser): date pending

azureknight00300:
If you don't have wireless internet, your options aren't numerous. Your going to have to buy a wireless router, a Nintendo WI-FI USB Connector, or wait for the Wii's wired router to be released in early January.

Added after 3 minutes:

Toggles and Hapoppo = added

And we can send pictures too! PORNOGRAPHWII!!!1

It's so weird and lame that you can't just plug the Wii into the internet. SO LAME.

They're just working on it, but agreed. I do love that it's wi-fi out of the box though, instant internet (well, except for the two updates... I tried connecting before putting a game in, it hurt).

Odd...I'm able to hook that baby up Wireless in under a second...also there is a LAN Party Cable for Wii...good luck finding it. Um you should know able routers right? So just keep playing around.

I didn't get mine just for the fact that the store didn't get any copies of Zelda for the launch.

...that was kinda stupid. You buy Wii and then go to the mall and get Zelda.

1) was already at mall
2) There is only 1 EB at mall.
3) Zelda is my only reason to get Wii.
4) Most of the other places in my area didn't get Zelda for launch either.
