I have no idea, most jobs will require some training that they'll give you when you start
"Suddenly Frodo noticed that a strange-looking weather-beaten man, sitting in the shadows near the wall, was also listening intently to the hobbit-talk. He had a tall tankard in front of him, and was smoking a long-stemmed pipe curiously carved. His legs were stretched out before him, showing high boots of supple leather that fitted him well, but had seen much wear and were now caked with mud. A travel-stained cloak of heavy dark-green cloth was drawn close about him, and in spite of the heat of the room he wore a hood that overshadowed his face; but the gleam of his eyes could be seen as he watched the hobbits."

Oh, if they give the training then that's okay.

When you go to the job office are you allowed to specify that you are looking for a job that takes no cognitive effort? Or is it a case of Geting whatever is available? Are you allowed to hold out for a certain kind of job?

I don't know, I've never done that

Mirak, have you ever worked as a builder or any manual labor?

you are being really singular about your approach to this thread, ari.

it is not wrong of us to try and contextualize your request, methinks.

why are you interested in this idea?

I remember having watched a black parody of bob the builder and it was hilarious as shit, although everything in ebonics is extra funny so that might be it.

Yeah, I heard they're pretty great at building relationships, but it can be pretty hard to tear down the wall around their hearts.

More seriously though, Ari, if your looking for work as a builder and are wondering how difficult it is and the hours you'll work then you should ask a construction company directly. I'm sure that each one has different working situations and that you should check with whichever one you think would be best for you (whether it's location or some other reason).

I see. Thank you for the advice. I was mainly interested because it seemed like a really straight forward job. Show up, do what you are told. It is not exactly a job that requires interacting with strangers on a daily basis. But then maybe, there were details I was unaware of. I guess just asking if any one knew any information and then for them to tell me everything they knew was a poor idea and instead should have tried to make it more of a conversation.

It also would have been better to put this in another thread (namely the general discussion) to get more direct answers.
