The monster at the end of this thread?
"Suddenly Frodo noticed that a strange-looking weather-beaten man, sitting in the shadows near the wall, was also listening intently to the hobbit-talk. He had a tall tankard in front of him, and was smoking a long-stemmed pipe curiously carved. His legs were stretched out before him, showing high boots of supple leather that fitted him well, but had seen much wear and were now caked with mud. A travel-stained cloak of heavy dark-green cloth was drawn close about him, and in spite of the heat of the room he wore a hood that overshadowed his face; but the gleam of his eyes could be seen as he watched the hobbits."

Do any of y'all like actual like, horror movies? Or do you all just like The Nightmare Before Christmas?

I love horror movies. But when it comes to Halloween, none better than Nightmare Before Christmas.

I don't care for horror flicks really. But that may be because most of them are just shoddily made and repeating the same formula over and over for a low budget just to be a cash grab.

If anything I'm a bigger fan of horror comedy, like Cabin in the Woods and Tucker and Dale vs Evil. But maybe I'm just not the target audience. The scares are usually predictable, and a lot of "horror" movies nowadays just substitute gore for scares. Like the Evil Dead remake was just a gorefest, not anything particularly scary.

I liked the Event Horizon.

And I remember watching the Tremors when I was like 12. Good scare at that age.

Don't know how much of those qualify as horror movies. If they do I'd also nominate Screamers and Pitch Black.

I wouldnt call Pitch Black a horror movie... It was really more of an action movie.

And yeah, Tremors scared the living hell out of me as a kid. So did Jurassic Park.

I was once playing Fatal Frame with the lights off and Evanescence playing. Eeriest thing I've ever felt... Well, at least since having the piss scared out of me BEFORE I stepped into a scarehouse at age 12. They say they dumbed down the horror for me because I was paranoid about going inside but truthfully, it probably was nowhere near as scary as it sounded from the outside. In that long-ass line, I just kept hearing the screaming. No eerie music, no weird sound effects, just screaming like everyone that went in was being greeted by some huge dude with a sledge hammer. Before that, my most frightening experience was watching the original Jurassic Park in a gigantic theater.
These days, I don't get scared... or well, at least I don't feel scared. I'm always aware of everything going on around me so things don't take me by surprise. It's a necessity. If I were to be legitimately taken by surprise, I'd likely start beating the crap out of somebody in sheer panic. Not that that's ever happened <_< . >_>
I just love how people put commas, in places they so obviously, do not belong.

I don't know about you, but I love the Young Justice animated series.
So I became the 44,901st signer of this petition to bring the series back.
