I hear the movie The Odd Life of Timothy Green made a lot of people cry. Has anyone seen it?

It sure seems like a movie where the ending would make some cry.

I haven't seen it but I know I would cry at the end of Marley and Me

OMFG, THIS ACTUALLY HAPPENED? THAT'S IT, GAME OVER MAN. THERE GOES MONDAY MOVIE NIGHT FOR ME.

toy story 3 is the most recent film to cause me to weep.

the incinerator scene (though you know they aren't gonna die, they way they fucking accept their death) and the final playing scene where they plucked at strings of nostalgia like an expert violin player

i watched lion king for the first time since i was under ten a few months back and when the (SPOILER ALERT)   mufasa death scene   (IT'S OKAY THE SPOILERS ARE GONE) came up, i fucking wept and was all "fuck i didn't remember how harrowing this scene is"

and it fucking is. tuor's right. that shit's traumatic. my kids won't be allowed to watch anything disney til they're 18.

Disney changed the guys who run Pixar, which is sad because the guys from Pixar took over Disney and I hoped they would push for new ideas. I was very wrong.

I guess that's where different parenting techniques come in. I was allowed to watch... well, pretty much anything when I was a kid. Except Porn and The Exorcist. Both of which were very emphasized.

I think the lessons learned from these movies (Disney/Pixar) are invaluable from a young age. From the mighty falling, to crushing depression, friends taking you out of that depression and then aspiring to be everything not even you thought you could be- rising you to a power you didn't even know you had.

I would consider it a crime against humanity to bar a child from the Lion King, but that's just my honest opinion.

*big 'ol shrug*

Watched plenty of movies that taught those things, just not the Lion King.
"Suddenly Frodo noticed that a strange-looking weather-beaten man, sitting in the shadows near the wall, was also listening intently to the hobbit-talk. He had a tall tankard in front of him, and was smoking a long-stemmed pipe curiously carved. His legs were stretched out before him, showing high boots of supple leather that fitted him well, but had seen much wear and were now caked with mud. A travel-stained cloak of heavy dark-green cloth was drawn close about him, and in spite of the heat of the room he wore a hood that overshadowed his face; but the gleam of his eyes could be seen as he watched the hobbits."

Oh, I'm sure. Almost every movie in existence has at least one moral value in it. I'm just talking about Disney/Pixar right now, and one of their main flagships- Lion King. It's just... until 18? It seems kind of Draconian. From a standstill I'm still not sure if he's serious. In case he was, I'm trying to raise a good point about such powerful cinema being a good thing- especially at a young age.

In my opinion of course. All forms of entertainment affect people differently; and I'm not going to suggest otherwise.

On the off chance you weren't, I was just making sure. Even through thick sarcasm, the point you made was legitimate. As for 'their' I can only assume you meant when I said 'Their' flagships. I mean Disney-Pixar.

Oh man, it gets really sad near the end, too. I haven't seen that in the longest time, I might have to watch it again.

Oh cool, I didn't fuck up. That's always a plus!

Also I just remembered 'The Butterfly Effect'. If you can get past "what the fuck is going on" it's actually really sad. I teared up a little bit, but didn't outright cry.
