Les Miserables had me crying through at least the last half hour.    A Little Fall of Rain/Eponine's death onward    and I cried during I Dreamed a Dream

and it fucking is. tuor's right. that shit's traumatic. my kids won't be allowed to watch anything disney til they're 18.

You just need to make sure your kids aren't wimps before you let them watch it.

The blob traumatized me as a kid.
I think that would be the only time I cried during a movie.

Up had the most somber opening to any movie I've ever seen. Most movies usually wait a couple minutes to half an hour to drop that shit on your feet, some even wait until after the halfway point to establish a sad mood...

But Up just slams it on you at the beginning. Gives you a commitment to the characters before the movie even begins pretty much... I liked Up. It was a great movie.

The beginning of Up did leave my heart heavy, but no tears. Very sad, but no tears.

My grandfather died shortly before we started watching Up. We found out while we were watching it. The timing was impeccable.

the beginning of up was amazing and tear-worthy, though i don't think i wept. the rest of the film was mediocre.

My thoughts exactly. The beginning was very well made and heart wrenching, but I don't think a lot of people cried to it. They Felt, that's for sure, but they didn't cry.

The rest of the movie is fine, I like the concept of adventure, but I find the villain kind of unbelievable.
