I saw Paperman when I saw Wreck-It Ralph and it was really great! I loved how no words were used during the whole short, and was simply expressed through facial expressions, hand gestures, etc. I loved the short, and Wreck-It Ralph.
I appreciate this short film. A combo of 2D style and 3D generated animation. A beautiful score and story told without words. I learnt that the best way to do a short film is to use none. Show don't tell. Disney nailed it.
It's what a lot of student works do, and it's what makes a lot of them charming and stand out. If you're able to tell a whole story clearly just on the merit of your animation skills, you're doing a good job.
I remember watching this even before Wreck-it-Ralph (don't remember how), and this still enchants me.
