majora's mask's complete departure from Zelda and Ganon not even being in the fucking game is what makes it interesting to me. also the tinfoil about Link being dead and Majora's Mask's universe was the process of transitioning to the afterlife.

There's also another idea that Majora's Mask originated from the Twili people in Twilight Princess. I apologize I'm not using their actual race name, but I don't remember it right now.

At any rate, the design of Majoras Mask and the Fused Shadows helmet that Minda has are somewhat similar. In MM, the mask salseman talks about a race that just suddenly "dissapeared", so it could make sense that this is the Twili people. The race wasn't "rediscovered" until Twilight Princess anyway. I dunno, I just find the whole game interesting, and the possible connections to be just as interesting.

I like the theory that the Happy Mask Salesman is the last of that race and is going to use the mask's power (which is referenced in the, albeit non-canon, manga.)

I hear another theory about him being the Goddess of Time in physical form. Why she chose a man I'll never understand. But the theory goes that, if you notice, when you walk into the clock tower where the salesman is the time at the bottom of the screen is totally gone and time completely stops (so obviously someone/something is controlling the time) since the goddess couldn't defeat the skull kid, she gave her powers to link (the Song of Healing and the first mask you obtain)

This seems kind of far fetched, but still kind of interesting at the same time.

I think it would be cool if the moon's face got angrier with each passing day.

The moon was freakin' scary. I'm still baffled as to why it even has a face... oh well, it's a LOZ game.


Well remember in the ending of Majora's Mask when the HMS walked away from Link and Skullkid, he suddenly disappeared. Seemed a bit odd.

I always thought MM had the eeriest theme to any zelda game, even to this day.
Not only the moon, but the happy mask man, the background music, Ben, and a lot of other small contributing factors.
But the creepiness is partly why I liked it. I also like the whole, "five stages of grief" thing they had.

Majora I think is on par with Farore, Din, and Nayru. He's like. The Fourth God who got knocked out of Hyrule and has been trying to get his way back in, and his mask is one key element to doing that.

srs tinfoil but Majora I think is the REAL main bad guy of the series.

I've always had a dream that they'd make some kind of gritty Zelda game where you play Ganondorf. Like, he's the same person in every single game. Zelda and Link reincarnate, but Ganondorf is the same guy. He changes with the times, but he's the same guy.

It'd be interesting if you played a game as him, trying to bring the world back into balance if say, Link got corrupted by Majora. Zelda being all "I hate you because all versions of me are obliged to because of what you've done. But well. Link can't be corrupted. So. Ceasefire."

Would it not be cool? I think it would. Not likely. But cool.

But it would definitely be like. Franchise ending. Mario can't end. But Metroid. Zelda. These franchise imply a potential real ending. A climactic summary.
