Personally, I'm a huge fan of static shock, partially due to the fact that growing up, static shock was pretty much the ONLY good black super hero aside from john stewart (who was rarely seen. (even in justice league) ).
I loved the sereis as a kid and i know there are alot of people out there who also like the series, now I rememember in 2011 seeing trailers of a boy whose face was blacked out and hd purple bluish electricity in his hands ,and all kinds of obvious static shock posters and then they just dissapeared, my question is would you guys want to see this, or do you think it should be made into a movie?

It's because Louis is black. And his young mind grabbed hold of one of the very few black superheroes from his youth.

I know he's black. That's why I'm saying his choice (as he presented it) is racist. What's wrong with being a fan of a white superhero? What about Asian? Wouldn't only a racist person actually distinguish between the role models based on their skin colour? Can you not familiarise with a superhero of another skin colour than your own? I thought that should be a non-issue to people who do not care about race.

Personally I dont like Black Panther Or Falcon, and I liked Spiderman just as much as Static, but he has his own LARGE amount of movies. so I'm more interested in static than i am in spiderman.

I never said i don't look up to other heroes, but since i AM black i can relate to him in ways such as culture.
During the time I was watching static shock, i lived in an area like his, i go to a highschool like his now

So in alot of ways i can relate to him better than other superheroes


Calling me ignorant for liking a black hero with no real evidence to support you just makes you look stupid.

I'm merely saying that your choice reasoning as stated before could easily be constructed as racially driven.


More importantly this. See, you like him not because of race, as you first mentioned, but because of culture which you share and can relate. And this is an interesting thing in itself, because technically Static is probably one of the few prevalent superheroes who are a part of such a specific cultural background. I mean, Gear is from the same world as Static, and yet when it comes to presenting a superhero in that specific urban culture Static was made as a black person. Which makes me wonder if the creators of the show were just adhering to the statistics, or being stereotypical. It just strikes me as an overlooked piece of odd trivia. Didn't mean to hang this on you, you just happened to be the one to bring it up.
