And the good lord sayeth: Come forth The Talk Thread XVIII!

This forum can be a scary place, 'cause we got lax rules: let's see your war face. Take a breath, and roll the dice, you might find out we're really nice.

Considering the trailer shows all the villains in pretty early scenes I don't think it will

It has happened on occasion that they show clips of the next movie.
Remember Deathly Hallows

Do you really think they make movie scenes in order?

That's an unfair comparison considering it was confirmed that Deathly Hollows would have a Part 2. There's no indication that AS-M 2 will

Why does that make it unfair?
Pulling a surprise cliffhanger will stir up a whole lot more hype for the next one. As people won't wait until part two comes out because they won't know there will be one.

They are trying to get the pieces in play to bring up the Sinister 6. They'll probably use Mysterio and Vulture to not cross over with the Villains from the previous series.

I'm actually surprised they picked them as the main bad. I don't expect non-comic readers to really know who they are.

The cartoons no matter which one always has to dip into the lesser known characters to avoid fatiguing the well known villains. So I think people especially those who watched the 90s cartoons have some clue who most of the character are at least enough to recognize the name and maybe the powers or appearance. I could also see them using Scorpion or maybe Shocker.

It would be interesting to see a superhero movie where a team of villains are the main characters in contrast to The Avengers.

Bioshock Movie Concept Art
Still kinda bummed they didn't make the movie, but $200 million is a pretty big budget...

The twist of Bioshock was uniquely suited to the medium of games, not so much to film. Or it would at least seem like a generic film twist rather than the great one it was in game.

Unless Rapture would just be the setting for the game and something original would be going on.

I get to see the Dancer dance for the first time tonight, her academy has their winter dance recital. I am excited
"Suddenly Frodo noticed that a strange-looking weather-beaten man, sitting in the shadows near the wall, was also listening intently to the hobbit-talk. He had a tall tankard in front of him, and was smoking a long-stemmed pipe curiously carved. His legs were stretched out before him, showing high boots of supple leather that fitted him well, but had seen much wear and were now caked with mud. A travel-stained cloak of heavy dark-green cloth was drawn close about him, and in spite of the heat of the room he wore a hood that overshadowed his face; but the gleam of his eyes could be seen as he watched the hobbits."

That suit alone looks like it'd cost thousands of dollars to make, and then adding in all of the steampunk props and complex atmosphere with the splicers and dilapidated surroundings. It'd be like the Silent Hill movies, but calling for a bit more to get right. With the Silent Hill movies, you could easily use CGI for a lot of things with how supernatural everything was, but aside from the water outside, splicers and plasmid effects I don't see what else CGI could fit well into such a dark yet more real world without looking overused.

But god the amount of effort to make such a world would be worth it. Thinking about it gives me chills.

Whichever it was going to be, I feel Ken Levin made the right decision. From what it looked like the budget was being slashed more than half and he didn't want to settle with that. Had a lot of balls to do that. Said now he's waiting for the right people down the line to make it great. Often video game movies are sellouts, but it looks like they really want to make something amazing, and if not given the opportunity not at all just to make it.

And now Ken Levine is writing the screenplay for a remake of Logan's Run.

I feel like it be cool whether animated or real-time. Probably be either during the fall of rapture or during Lamb's rise.

Sometimes in the winter I like to go stand outside on my balcony without shoes or socks or a shirt on and see how long I can stay out there. Something primal and refreshing about it

Haha, ya, sometimes people are walking by and I'm just out standing on this second story balcony and it must look pretty weird to them.

Yeah it's good to feel through your body sometimes. Once people grow up they never connect with their body except through sex or the gym typically.
