Re: And the good lord sayeth: Come forth The Talk Thread XVIII!

The presence of vampire material before then QU is not necessarily related to a vampire craze. They were all common fodder for storytelling, and have been for quite some time. The popular culture changed with the release of Twilight though, and that's the metric I'm judging it by. If you're saying vampires were huge in popular culture, like how they have been for the past couple years, "then I'm afraid you're terribly mistaken".

Now that i think about it. I've never seen a horror movie that made me genuinely scared. Sure the jump scares gave me startles but the premise of these movies are so easy to understand. Shit the only good "horror" movie I've seen in the past 5 years was Cabin in the Woods and that was because of the satire.

I'm not big on horror either because it's rather repetitious.

What's with all these "I," titles?

I'd rather have a movie about I, Lucifer.

Also, been wanting to watch Cabin in the Woods for a while. Maybe I can find a copy somewhere...

It seems like every subscription based streaming site has it.

I. Fucking. Want. This.
Also, Vince Gilligan (creator), Bryan Cranston (Walter White), Dean Norris (Hank Schrader, and Bob Odenkirk (Saul Goodman) are going to be at a Barnes and Noble in Los Angeles signing and (maybe) selling the box set.
I'll see if I can go...

Millo, how are you watching these movies? Horror movies are usually much less effective if you're just watching them on the TV with friends who are ripping apart every scene. You need an appropriate atmosphere. Not that I don't disagree in that they're generally pretty ineffective, but of the genres it probably matters most that you see it in the appropriate setting and mindset.

Can anyone name the best horror movies they can think of? It's been a while since I've watched a good one. Maybe some fell between the cracks over the years, or I'm missing some classics.

Maybe this list could help. A lot of them I agree on.

I'd call it fanart because Cap's shield was broken but it has happened before.

Usually i watch them with only one other person and we both generally never speaking during the movie.

Only questions I have for it is whether it still follows Jimmy and if it's still set at Bullworth.

Ooooo this was creepy.
Even creepier because I imagined he was talking in a Bill Murray voice.
Now when I look at Tuor's avatar, it'll remind of THAT.

Has anybody here read that creepypasta "Psychosis"? I'll be discussing it in my creative writing class.
