Yes, Mir. Video games, as one of the few interactive media platforms, are meant to be fun on premise. Dark Souls is frustratingly hard and a super dark game, but playing it and overcoming the obstactles is super fun. Even The Line is a fun game because of the characters and the writing. You don't play it to have fun with the gameplay, but you go through the shitty gameplay because you're having fun in the world that the writers have created. Deadly Premonition, by all means a shitty game, is fun because it's a shitty game and it takes the piss out of itself and, by relation, Twin Peaks. There are different ways to have fun in a game and they don't all revolve around the core gameplay.
